Where to Travel This March, According to Your Zodiac Sign
Not quite sure where to jet-set these days? It might be time to put your trust in the stars. Astrology guru Bethany Heitman is back with the best places to travel this March according to your zodiac sign. See what she says about yours.
February 19 – March 20
Thanks to Mars and Pluto, you’re going through a transformative period in your career. You’ve been noodling with the idea of making a big change but haven’t had the time to give it the thought it deserves. A quiet getaway to the low-key town of Montecito, California will give you the space you need to really mull things over. Check in at the San Ysidro Ranch, where John and Jackie Kennedy honeymooned back in 1953. After the historic spot was badly damaged in the 2018 mudslides, it went through a 15-month renovation and recently reopened. You’ll be able to get some thinking and planning done in one of its 41 cozy guest rooms complete with plush beds and fireplaces. Afterwards, treat yourself to some vino—Santa Maria Valley’s wineries are less than an hour away.
March 21 – April 19
Your love life may be a bit rocky this month (blame it on Mars and Venus teaming up). Don’t worry— it’s nothing serious—but you and your partner could use some quality time together. A romantic trip to Brussels will get you back on track. The European city is known for its incredible chocolate and beer. In fact, Chocolate Week takes place from March 6–March 15 in the nearby city of Antwerp. When not sipping brews and tasting treats, rest up at Hotel Metropole. The palatial hotel drips with opulence, has a high-end brasserie, and puts you in the heart of Brussels. Another perk about traveling there this time of year? It’s shoulder season in March, so you’ll avoid big crowds and should be able to find some good deals.
April 20 – May 20
This month, most of the planets are in the eastern half of your chart, sparking an outgoing streak. Set off on a mini break to Austin. Thanks to SXSW (March 13–20), the city will be buzzing with things to do. The W Austin is located right in the middle of all the hubbub. Don’t miss a meal at the acclaimed Trace restaurant, which is known for decadent dishes like pastrami short ribs and smoked duck, or a show at the famed Moody Theater (home of Austin City Limits) which is actually attached to the hotel.
May 21 – June 20
There’s no doubt you love your family, but they can also be a bit stressful. Mid-month, Mercury makes that latter part particularly true. So, if you’re planning a family vacation, choose a spot where there are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. It’s hard to bicker when so much fun is being had! The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana is an all-inclusive, so family members can eat and drink whenever they want. It has an adventure park for kids, a luxurious spa for grown-ups, and a private beach that will keep everyone happy. Upgrade to a room with a private family concierge to enjoy even more perks like access to exclusive family-friendly areas of the resort, priority dinner reservations, and planning assistance for activities in and outside of the resort.
June 21 – July 22
Cancer, the start of the month is going to be a very busy time for you. While you’ll accomplish a lot, unfortunately, you might not have much time for sleep. Catch up with a restful trip to Naples, Florida. Like Miami, this seaside town has sunny weather, amazing restaurants, and great shopping but without the crazy party scene. When you’re ready to retire for the day, check into The Ritz-Carlton, Naples and head straight to the spa for their Drift to Sleep treatment. It starts with a milk bath, followed by a guided meditation, and concludes a peaceful massage that incorporates soothing aromatic oils.
July 23 – August 22
Your energy is at an all-time high towards the end of the month. So, go on, Leo: hit the town in a big way by traveling to a spot that allows for lots of cool sightseeing. Berlin is one of Europe’s most exciting cities and March is a perfectly mild month to visit. After dropping your bags at Casa Camper in the artsy Mitte area, take a quick walk over to Museum Island—it’s home to five different museums that showcase art from nearly every era—then head over to Street Art Alley, a long stretch filled with cool graffiti and delicious cafés. Before you go, be sure to squeeze in a beer tasting at one of the city’s infamous beer gardens (Zollpackhof is a favorite) and pay a visit to the site where the Berlin Wall fell.
August 23 – September 22
Love is in the air for you, Virgo. Celebrate that sweet feeling with a romantic trip for two. We suggest forgoing popular Caribbean beaches and fancy European cities for someplace more unexpected like Cape Town. March marks the end of summer there, so the weather is still warm and dry. Pack your itinerary with activities that strengthen your bond like a thrilling shark dive, which lets you explore your adventurous sides. Prefer more traditional romance? Wineries just outside the city make for an excellent day trip. As for where to stay, the Taj Cape Town’s modern aesthetic appeals to your clean and tidy Virgo heart.
September 23 – October 22
At month’s end, Mercury puts Libras in a very social mood. Usually, a night out filled with dancing and cocktails does the trick, but right now, you’re craving more meaningful connections. Book a trip away with some of your nearest and dearest. The charming ski town of Whistler in Canada provides the perfect backdrop for fireside chats, indulgent wine-filled dinners, and days spent shopping. Located in the center of town, the Four Seasons Resort Whistler is close to many of the area’s best restaurants, shops, and slopes but makes a strong case for staying put, too. Both the lobby and on-site restaurant have fireplaces to cozy up to, as do many of the rooms. Ready to bundle up and head out into the cold? Trek a few blocks away to The Fitzsimmons Pub, where you can settle in for drinks, snacks, and long talks.
October 23 – November 21
Mars has you focused on feeling accomplished all month long—even during your vacation. Plan a trip that allows you to learn something new. The BodyHoliday in St. Lucia is an acclaimed wellness resort on a pristine stretch of sand known as Cariblue Beach. Whatever your wellness goal, guests are sure to reach it here: amp up your yoga practice with the help of top instructors, take sailing classes, study Tai Chi, and more. The all-inclusive also offers up healthy meals, so you’ll feel energized and fueled throughout your trip.
November 22 – December 21
Your curiosity is at a peak, and the only cure is a trip that introduces you to a new, exotic place. Oman couldn’t be any more different from neighboring Dubai. Unlike that skyscraper-packed, glittering metropolis, Oman is much more about the natural beauty of the land. Start in the capital of Muscat with a stay at The Chedi Muscat, an extravagant hotel on a private beach with stunning views of the mountains and six top-rated restaurants. Before you leave the city to explore, don’t miss a trip to The Grand Mosque, a massive masterpiece surrounded by lush gardens.
December 22 – January 19
A few obstacles come your way this March, causing stress and annoyance. Taking some time away at the end of the month will help you reset. An adults-only all-inclusive is the way to go—relaxation comes much more easily when you don’t have to worry about little things like where to eat. Unico 20°87° opened just a few years ago in Akumal, Mexico, and, unlike most all-inclusive resorts, the daily rate here even covers select spa treatments. Don’t even think about lifting a finger, either: every room comes with a personal host who can help set up activities, restaurant reservations, spa treatments—you name it.
January 20 – February 18
With Mars in transit, your inner adventurer comes out mid-month. A far-flung destination can satisfy your need to explore, and Chilean Patagonia couldn’t be a better pick. Tierra Patagonia Hotel and Spa, nestled in Torres del Paine National Park, makes for the perfect base. Full day tours are available for those interested in guided hikes—you’ll learn more about the history of the park and all the flora and fauna it contains. From the hotel, you can also arrange horseback riding excursions, glacier tours, and more. When you’re ready for some down time, unwind at the Uma Spa, which has an indoor pool that overlooks the mountains.
