Easy Recipe to Cook

Penne alla Vodka is a classic Italian pasta dish made with penne in a creamy tomato and vodka sauce close-up in a plate

Penne alla Vodka

IngredientsHow to Make It
– 1 lb penne
– 3 tbsp butter
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– 1 whole medium onion, finely chopped
– 3 garlic cloves, minced
– 1 cup vodka
– 1 14-oz can tomato paste or tomato sauce
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
– 1/4 to 1/2 tsp salt
– Ground black pepper
– Grated Parmesan
– Basil
1. Prepare penne al dente (or as preferred), then set aside.

2. In a large skillet, sauté onion and garlic in butter and olive oil over medium heat, stirring frequently until softened. Pour in vodka and stir to incorporate. After reducing for 2-3 minutes, add in the tomato
paste and stir until it has coated onions and garlic and is beginning to darken. Reduce to low heat.

3. Add heavy cream, stirring to combine. Sprinkle in red pepper flakes and half the Parmesan and stir until melted. Season to taste. Turn off heat and stir in cooked pasta, folding in the remaining Parmesan. Serve with basil leaves as desired.
