How to Get There
We really enjoyed our stay at Martin's Patershof. We were in a deluxe cosy room in the church building. Cosy is a good description, because the arches minimize the area you can move about in the room. The bathroom does not have a full shower but rather a tub with a hand wand. Check in was efficient and friendly. We were directed to the parking easily. The hotel is a short walk to the old town. The only downside was that I wish they had nicer towels, they weren't really large and fluffy (minor detail but one I always note).
Stayed here one night for business. Agree with the other reviews on positive aspects such as location etc. But one major flaw. Horrendous noise echoing from the bar all night. It was that bad that i could have joined in the conversation. I complained and it quietened down but 30 mins later at 1am had more noise followed by the inevitable noise off drunk people getting to their room.
Its am old church. Think about the noise of drunk loud people in a church and that's the noise level.
Would not stay again as didn't sleep well and absolutely shattered for my meetings.
Was invited with my wife for an wedding with 1 night in hotel... Visited the hotel 1 time before and when you see the location, an old desecrated church, you expect much... a one-time experience.... When you enter the hotel and see the hall with bar, saloon and reception, you are still in a good mood... But then, the room we got, at the first floor (room 102) was disapointing!! feels like you sleep in the cave/cellar... :-( The bed is good, and the furniture is of good quality, but the total picture is not what you expect.
Also the food at the wedding, was poor... nothing special. Very average. The service was ok, they were very friendly, but not much experience...
Also the main hall, where breakfast is served, is a missed chance... should got more of the original details... Breakfast was very good! Enough choice/variation and fresh...buffet.
But then, the price is waaaayyyyy to much for what is was!
End of September had an enjoyable stay at Martin's Patershof. The hotel is centrally located and there are good parking options in the area. Staff at reception was friendly and professional. Had a good size room with Jacuzzi bathtub and with glass window view. Late evening drinks in the bar were pleasant and good. Breakfast was hectic due to the high number of guests having breakfast at the same time. Breakfast is served in the big room with an altar as big ornament.
This hotel is in a former church so it has it's own unique atmosphere with tinted glas in the rooms. It is located in the city centre and many attractions, restaurants and shopping are in walking distance. The hotel offers parking in an underground parkade a few meters away for 25 Euros/night. Unfortunately the garage has no elevator so depending on your luggage the stairway can be a little challenging. Free parking in the neighbourhood is almost impossible to get so I recommend using the hotel garage.
The check-in experience was good with friendly and helpful staff. There is an elevator inside the hotel to get to the upper levels. My nice room had a good size and was clean. The carpets do need a little cleaning though. Wifi is free with a good enough signal to stream Netflix. Breakfast is not included and I left too early for seeing the options. Overall a nice stay and a good place to stay.
