8 Best Bachelorette Party Destinations in the U.S.
Drunken antics, fake-uniform-clad strippers and explicitly-themed accessories (you know the sort) are often what come to mind when we think of bachelorette parties. But there are so many ways to throw a classy bride-to-be getaway. Whether you're leaning towards low-key or respectfully-rowdy, these are the bachelorette destinations that do it best.
A Brooklyn-based writer and editor, Chelsea's work has appeared in Matador Network, The Huffington Post, the TripAdvisor blog, and more. When not planning her next trip, you'll usually find her drinking way too much iced coffee (always iced—she’s from New England) or bingeing a Netflix original series.
Nashville, TN
Bachelorette shindigs in Tennessee’s honky-tonk capital are all about two things: cheap draft beer and live music everywhere you look. Before you head out for a debaucherous Broadway bar-hop, check in at the Thompson Nashville; the boutique property is well-situated in Nashville’s Gulch neighborhood, not far from Music Row, plus sleek interiors feature floor-to-ceiling windows and Marshall speakers so you can keep the Dolly Parton blaring well past last call. The next day, head out for a (hangover curing) breakfast at Biscuit Love—literally a 250-foot walk from the hotel. Go hard on carb-heavy shareable plates like the Bonuts (fried biscuit dough, lemon mascarpone, and blueberry compote). You’ll need the energy later when you and the girls spend the afternoon sippin’ suds and scooting around town on a 15-person bicycle with Nashville Pedal Tavern.

NYC
NYC knows a thing or two about hosting a sexy night out (see Sex in the City or Gossip Girl for further proof). With neighborhoods full of glamorous hotels, niche bars, and Michelin-starred dining rooms, it’s just a matter of crafting an itinerary that fits the bride-to-be. For a special keepsake that can be worn over the weekend or even on the wedding day, head to Soho’s Bite Beauty Lab where you can make your own custom lipstick based on pigments, finishes (glossy, matte, sheer), and all-natural scents of your choosing. Try it on for size as you make way for the Meatpacking district to grab drinks at the sophisticated Top of the Standard or, even higher up, the faux-grass covered rooftop bar, Le Bain. Either way, you’ll be afforded killer views, sweet beats, and most likely a posse of impeccably-dressed business men. At the end of the night, head back to your home base: the Beaux-Arts NoMad Hotel. Apartment-like guestrooms are seductive, low-lit, and decidedly Parisian with velvet drapes, tasseled sconces, and vintage black and white prints.

New Orleans, LA
Sure, NOLA is full of award-winning restaurants, raucous bars, and overindulgent comfort foods, but if you’re looking for something a little out of the ordinary—following your mandatory bar hop along Bourbon Street, that is— the city’s got some things up its sleeves. Witches Brew Tours' private (NC-17) aphrodisiac tours were made with bachelorettes in mind; you’ll take to the French Quarter on a search for everything sensual, including irresistible foods that’ll tempt your lovers. As for where to stay, the Ace Hotel New Orleans comes out the clear winner honoring the city’s roots with retro-inspired furniture, a two-story music venue, and an onsite restaurant helmed by James Beard-nominated chefs. When Bourbon Street does manage to get the best of you—it is just a 10-minute drive from your room—you can’t go wrong with Café du Monde. Clichéd—we know— but did you really have a bachelorette party in New Orleans if you don’t have the IG group beignet photo to prove it?

Chicago, IL
The Windy City makes for a great bachelorette contender, especially if you’re looking for a low-key weekend you’ll actually remember. Start your stay by dropping everyone’s bags at Freehand Chicago; the style steal is sure to please your whole group with wallet-friendly rates, playful interior design, and killer cocktails at it-bar Broken Shaker. Once you’re settled in, head for dinner at Girl & the Goat—just make sure you lock down reservations well in advance. Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard’s West Loop kitchen has been kicking since 2010, but diners still come out in droves for shareable plates of wood-fired oysters and goat empanadas (with miso-blue cheese aioli and squash-apple slaw). With full-bellies, take your girl gang for a laugh at Chi-Town’s Second City. Call ahead to book tickets because the spot’s sketch and improv shows sell out on the reg—they were the ones to launch the red-hot careers of Chris Farley, Catherine O’Hara, and Tina Fey (plus many, many more), after all.

Miami, FL
Miami is always making waves as it constantly busts out some of the county’s eminent it spots; be it buzzy hotels, trendy bars, or design-driven restaurants. Once you land down south, first thing’s first: settle into 1 Hotel South Beach (see the oceanfront address, and enormous rooftop pool if you need further convincing) and pop some champs as you call for hair and makeup reinforcement, aka: the Glamsquad. Once you’re all properly primped, give the single ladies in your group something to swoon over by hitting ultra-social spots like Freehand Miami’s backyard Broken Shaker. While they can flirt with Miami’s special breed of impossibly tanned and toned men, everyone—betrothed or not—will enjoy the exotic cocktails. Alternatively, if you want to steer the night in an ultra-classy direction, the Gale South Beach’s Regent Cocktail Club is your go-to. The sophisticated, 1940s-esque lounge isn’t an established bachelorette party venue, and that’s precisely why you’ll like it.

Las Vegas, NV
As if we even had to say it, Las Vegas is your utmost quintessential party girl destination. This is where body-con dresses and stiletto heels come to live—and die—following nights out at the Strip’s hottest clubs. Glitzy mega-resorts are a dime a dozen here, but get in the Vegas mindset at The Cosmopolitan with its multi-media art installations, hip, Hollywood Regency-style digs, and stellar views of the Bellagio fountains and miniature Eiffel Tower. If you’re suddenly having doubts about whether your wardrobe is flashy enough, drop by Rent the Runway (it’s right in the Cosmo) for something more suitable. From there, get ready for the night to be a blur. Split your time between the electric LED-lit dance floors—or book VIP table service if you’re seriously throwing down—at hot spots like TAO, Marquee, and Hakkasan. Keep your eyes peeled, you could be partying alongside a Kardashian-Jenner-Disick, or two.

Charleston, SC
If a world-class culinary scene ranks higher than profuse dive bars options on your list of party destination pre-reqs, then Charleston is yours for the taking. The swanky Spectator Hotel should serve as your backdrop with an ideal historic district locale and Jazz-Age-era spirit in spades. From there, your itinerary will naturally revolve around meals, so be sure to score brunch reservations at hotspots like The Dewberry’s Henrietta’s (think: cheddar biscuits and glazed lobster omelettes) and dinner at design-driven Darling Oyster Bar (trust that it’s all in the name). Since you’ll be capturing the Southern charm at every turn, be sure to pack pastel seersucker numbers, playful off-the-shoulder tops, and your daintiest floral prints for those inevitable group photos.

Napa Valley, California
If you and your crew would prefer to down bottles of red more than pitchers of Rolling Rock, obviously, Napa Valley comes to mind. With 400+ wineries to choose from, tasting rooms are all around. Pre-wine time, chill out at Auberge Du Soleil. The sumptuous property is in the verdant heart of the valley, nestling its Côte d’Azur-reminiscent villas amongst 33 acres of olive groves. Once your gang is ready to hit the vineyards, we suggest the intimate, family-owned Whitehall Lane Winery & Vineyards which produces award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Semillon. Or, Brasswood Estate with its rustic-meets-refined Winemaker’s Den. The by-appointment-only experience welcomes you test out wine and cheese pairings from the comfort of nailhead leather sofas and fireside chairs.
