8 Cheap Flights For Spring
Attention Jetsetters, we know a good deal when we see one, and our sister site, Airfare Watchdog, has just announced some incredibly cheap flights for Spring. Check out these roundtrip routes, with our favorite hotel picks for each location.
If you're looking to splurge, check into the Ritz Cartlon-Fort Lauderdale, a 92-room waterfront resort built to resemble a luxury liner. Guests can lie on the beach or take dips in the heated pool on the 7th-floor deck, get a Sapphire Sea Treatment in the spa, lunch at the poolside café, or go for sunset drinks at the oceanfront bar. For a more affordable option, we love the chic Royal Palms Resort & Spa, with clean-lined, white-on-white rooms just a short walk to Canine Beach and Galleria.
This is the land of the original hipster hang, the Ace Hotel. The property opened in a maritime workers’ hotel in 1999, with preserved hardwood floors, repurposed furniture, whitewashed brick walls, loft ceilings, original artwork and more. Fresh off a 2014 renovation, the Hotel Vintage is another solid choice, awash in the colors of Washington’s wine country (burgundy, taupe and green), with slick furnishings lending a sophisticated sexy vibe.
With so many cool boutiques in SF, it's hard to pick just one. Among our favorite stays: Cavallo Point for its stellar views and Michelin-starred restaurant; the new Tilden Hotel, with its sleek white and gray palette, affordable price tag and ideal location, just steps from Union Square; and the Argonaut Hotel, a former fruit canning facility turned nautical-themed boutique near Fisherman's Wharf.
This is a city of power and politics, but for every Mandarin Oriental and Four Seasons, there is a budget-friendly hotel that combines great value with stylish design and a location as desirable as the rest. We love the Kimpton Palomar, near Dupont Circle, with 335 rooms that layer faux-fur throws with geometric-patterned carpets, mod art, and pops of orange and magenta. Or the Graham Georgetown, a 57-room gem, on a quiet side street between M Street and the Potomac River, whose red-brick Federalist façade blends right into the rest on the block.
NYC's got everything when it comes to hotels, from sophisticated classics to stylish boutiques. You can always go grand with landmark stays like the Peninsula, Park Hyatt, and the Four Seasons, but expect to pay $$$. More affordable options include the Hudson, now %33 off; the buzzy, The Redbury Hotel; and hipster hang, the Ace, with cool gastropub, the Breslin.
From a playboy party oasis to a zenned-out Malibu glamour den, there's no shortage of star-studded hotels in LA. New and noteworthy: The Dream, Hollywood, with views of the Hollywood sign and New York restaurants, Tao and Beauty and Essex; The James West Hollywood-Sunset, with its airy rooms and floor-to-ceiling windows; and Mama Shelter, where an oh-so-hip crowd gathers in the rooftop bar to watch the Technicolor sunset while sipping pitchers of sangria.
