The Madison Washington DC, A Hilton Hotel
The unified design by Studio Architecture and interior designer Dominick Coyne melds the limestone building's 1960s architecture with a style that's part historic DC, part modern-day residential. In the expansive lobby, taupes and grays mingle with tufted leather club chairs and sofas in shades of orange, chocolate-brown and ivory. Custom carpets and window treatments feature a prominent octagonal pattern, a nod to President James Madison's stay at the Octagon House after the British burned the White House in 1814.
