This elegant hotel is one of the appealing new breed of Parisian boutiques that employ an almost outré style, with unorthodox colors and an unabashed embrace of patterns. One-to-know designer Dorothée Meilichzon has done a spectacular job of turning the sharp angles, irregular recesses, and abundance of curves of this 19th-century building's unusual “flat iron” shape into a series of smart, chic spaces. Her clever use of mirrors, patterned tiles, triangular desks, and pendant lamps makes the rooms feel fresh and modern, though much of the furniture and fixtures have an Art Deco bent and the light switches are pure Bauhaus.
