Tastemaker Tommy Lei (@mybelonging) Spills His Taipei Travel Essentials
Tommy Lei, founder and “styleteller” of menswear and lifestyle site MYBELONGING (and @mybelonging on Instagram), just came back from a whirlwind trip to Taipei—and now he’s here to tell us all about it, including what he brought and wore along the way.
Tommy’s Taiwan Packing List
“I try to pack for function and with purpose at all times. Since the weather can be a tad humid in Taiwan, even in the winter months, I included items that would allow me to maintain a travel grooming routine that is easy but still effective. And as a content creator and immersive photographer, I also had to throw in a few tech items I can’t live without.”

What He Wore
“On my trip, I made sure to stop by MUME, one of Taipei’s premier Michelin-starred restaurants. It’s important to double-check the dress code policy for this type of venue. I usually opt for something that is casual chic or cocktail-appropriate.”

His Spa Essentials
“Beitou (北投) is the spa capital in the Taipei area. My friend and I booked Villa 32, an exclusive hot springs bathhouse and resort in the heart of this enchanting region. There are only five bathhouses on the resort; each one is private and can accommodate 4 to 6 people. I recommend relaxing away with a deeply-hydrating hair masque on. While the bath water comes directly from the hot springs, it’s important to rinse off to remove the mild sulfuric smell and replenish the skin afterwards.”
