Steal the Style: LINE DC

If you're ever hurting for home inspo, all you need do is look to your favorite hotel. With iconic designer-backed style and centerfold-worthy layouts, they know what's up. This week, we set our sights on the LINE DC, a sophisticated stay housed in a converted 110-year-old church in the capital's lively Adams Morgan neighborhood.

A Brooklyn-based writer and editor, Chelsea's work has appeared in Matador Network, The Huffington Post, the TripAdvisor blog, and more. When not planning her next trip, you'll usually find her drinking way too much iced coffee (always iced—she’s from New England) or bingeing a Netflix original series.

Our Inspiration: LINE DC

Just last month, the hotly anticipated LINE DC opened its neoclassical doors in the city’s Adams Morgan nabe. With restaurants from esteemed chefs Erik Bruner-Yang and Spike Gjerde, and cocktails from noted mixologist Todd Thrasher and bar director Corey Polyoka, the buzzy hotel — from the Sydell Group (which designed other beloved boutiques like NYC’s NoMad and Palm Spring’s Saguaro) —has been on every foodie’s radar since the project was announced years ago. But beyond the building’s grandiose, columned facade (it was previously the First Church of Christ, Scientist) lies more than just an enviable food and beverage program; vaulted ceilings make way for herringbone hardwood floors, brass and copper detailing, artwork from local Washington crafters, bespoke textiles, curated micro galleries, hodgepodged gallery walls, and more. Here, how we’d imitate the eclectic stay’s style.
