Hey sun! Hey moon! I love chasing the sun and I love chasing the moon, its not every day I get to chase both at the same time! I've met people that traveled from all over the world to watch the eclipse and here it is in my backyard. I almost didnt make it to totality, but I knew I couldn't let this moment slip by. "Totality" – The Great American Eclipse – I don't even know where to begin…it was so surreal. Being under a pitch black sun surrounded in near darkness watching stars suddenly come out in the sky. It was just like a dream and the most incredible thing I've ever seen! I couldn't believe my eyes. Who else got to see totality and can explain it better than me? I'd love to hear what you felt when you saw the moon cross in front on the sun today and where you witnessed the event! – Note: This is a quick edit we took through a @canonusa 6DMKII and Canon 100-400 with a x2 multiplier (no solar filter needed during totality.) If you look closely you can see some of the solar flares at the top and to the right! If you'd like to license my image, please email me!

The Great American Eclipse as seen from Oregon. Millions of people gathered to the narrow path of totality to witness one of the most epic astronomical phenomenons of the century. Smoke filled the valley over Detroit Lake. Mt. Jefferson towered in the distance but was blocked by the smoke from wildfires. As the eclipse came into totality, the air became colder, and the smoke dropped a little, revealing the mountain for the 2 minutes of totality. The sky gave a twilight mood as the landscape darkened by the shadow of the moon. Colors began to pop as if it was just another sunset or sunrise. Planets and stars were visible along with the midday sun. Our original spot along the coast was fogged in, so we booked it to a spot we originally wanted to experience the event. Took a power nap and got ready for the show. This was the most incredible experience of mine, and possibly many others lifetime. I'm glad I got to experience this with Darian Westbrook. Suspended in totality . . . The moments in totality were something like I've never seen in my life. A 360 degree view of sunset, zero wind, the birds and animals stopped making noises all for just a short couple minutes.
