AGOLDE Women’s Remy High-Rise Straight-Leg Jeans

“I absolutely love jeans and wear them pretty much every day, including when I fly. Agolde is one of my favorite brands for denim, so I recently put their Remy jeans to the test during a six-hour flight from NYC to LA. It was surprisingly the most comfortable flight I can recall. My denim preference is the perfect mix of not too stretchy and not too stiff; a slim, straight leg; and the higher-waisted, the better. The Remy jean hits all of these boxes. Every high-waist jeans lover knows the feeling of having to undo a top button and constantly readjust to try to get comfortable, but somehow none of that was necessary with these, even with their 11.5-inch front rise. I didn’t think about the jeans at all—I didn’t even notice them—which to me is an impressive sign of comfort.”

Levi’s Men’s 512™ Slim Taper Fit Jeans

“Whenever I go on a trip, my main concern is saving room in my suitcase and taking as little as I can—there’s always so much to buy on vacation! Unfortunately that usually means wearing my jeans instead of packing them. For years I would only wear my raw, unwashed denim on a flight, even though it was SUPER uncomfortable the whole trip. But last year I read an article about how good the Levi’s 512s are and thought I would give them a try. Let’s just say I’m never wearing my raw denim on a plane again. These are easily the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever owned thanks to the elastane and low rise. The best part is that they still look super stylish with a slim fit in the thigh and a tapered leg.”

J.Crew Women’s Point Sur Slouchy Boyfriend Jeans

“First, a confession: rarely do I wear jeans when traveling. I’m more of a leggings kind of girl, especially when it comes to long-haul flights that I anticipate sleeping through. However, for domestic routes and more outdoorsy trips where I’ll be exposed to the elements, J.Crew denim gets the job done. The Point Sur boyfriend jean is loose and has that “lived-in” vibe—something I specifically look for since I don’t wear denim that often—and the roomy hem gives my ankles and shoes breathing room. Having jeans that look great even with the bottoms rolled up is essential because of my short frame. This style does run large, so definitely size down if you’re looking for a snugger fit.”

DL1961 Women’s Mara Ankle High Rise Straight Jeans

“I’m used to wearing leggings or cute sweats when I travel, so to test out jeans on the plane, I went for a pair with plenty of stretch: DL1961’s Mara jean. It’s part of the brand’s “Instasculpt” collection, designed with a slimming, supporting fit that’s super comfy. Wearing these, I could move around freely without the waistband cutting into my stomach, and I didn’t feel constricted at all throughout the legs. Another plus for DL1961: the brand prioritizes sustainability in their production processes, using biodegradable fibers, solar energy, and significantly less water.”

DUER Men’s Weightless Denim Beachcomber Jeans

“When it comes to flying, if I’m not comfortable, I’m not boarding. With that being said, never will I ever wear a pair of jeans on an airplane that aren’t DUER’s Weightless Denim Beachcomber jeans. They have the stylish design that classic denim offers, but combined with moisture-wicking microfibers and a powerful stretch, these jeans feel as great as they look.”

7 For All Mankind Women’s Dojo Bootcut Jeans

“I’m always cold on a plane, so I prefer a bootcut jean that covers as much leg as possible. This pair from 7 for All Mankind is super comfortable and warm, and the color is a little darker than my usual, so they feel more elegant.”

Everlane The ’90s Cheeky Straight Jean

“The general consensus seems to be that jeans need stretch in order to be comfortable. I, on the other hand, like mine with little to none, and still wear jeans every time I travel (as well as pretty much every other day of the year). I guess the key is to not feel constricted, which is why I love the roomier cut on these Everlane jeans. They’re high-waisted but still comfortable, not super heavy, and give me a great butt. They’re the perfect shade of that lived-in light blue, too.”
