The Best Beach Bars in Florida
What is it about a beach bar or Tiki hut that makes us want to spend the day sipping piña coladas or an ice-cold beer, enjoying the sun and some newfound friends? Whether you’re a local Floridian or visiting for the very first time, finding the perfect beach bar is an essential part of life in the Sunshine State. Check out my top five favorite beach bars in South Florida then grab your shades, slip on your flip-flops and mosey your way to beachside beverage heaven.
Sea Level
Sea Level in Fort Lauderdale, one of Florida’s most popular beach towns, is an outdoor local hotspot with incredible ocean views. Kick back with one of their famous Harbor Beach Tipsy Turtles or a Sea Level Mango Colada and watch the yachts cruise by as the sun dips into the horizon. Happy hour is the time to go; domestic beers are only $4 and well drinks/house wines are $6. Sea Level is located inside the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, which has an incredible 22,000 square foot spa. Make a full day out of it and come for the spa, then stay for the drinks!
Insider’s tip: Try the house-made potato chips. You won’t be sorry.

Archie’s Seabreeze
One of my favorite watering holes on Hutchinson Island, Archie’s has been around since WWII. It’s gone through many transitions, yet appeals to everyone from bikers to beach babes. Here, you may find yourself next to a fisherman or a millionaire, as it’s the spot where everyone loves to hang out after a great day on the beach.
Insider’s tip: Need something to go with that bucket of beers? Try the bar’s huge munchie menu.

Quinn’s on the Beach
You’ll feel like a castaway on a deserted island at Quinn’s on the Beach. Technically you are on an island – Marco Island. The bar is located at Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa, where you can watch the dolphins put on a show in the serene gulf coast waters, while savoring the tropical breeze with a cocktail in hand. Now THIS is what you came to Florida for!
Insider’s tip: Try the signature Ultimate Bloody Mary or refreshing Blackberry Lemonade, two of my favorites.

The Sandbar
Staying in Delray Beach and looking for the quintessential beach bar? Look no further than The Sandbar. This Tiki Bar experience comes with oversized Adirondack beach chairs, the hottest DJ in Delray Beach and a menu of Florida beach bites like Key West Conch Fritters and Chilled “Peel ‘n Eat” Shrimp.
Insider’s tip: Happy Hour lasts an amazing three hours (feel free to lose track of time).

Square Grouper Tiki Bar
Drive up, dock or just meander in to the Square Grouper, located on the marina in Jupiter, FL. This favorite find of mine offers live music by some of Florida’s best local artists — the music video for Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet’s hit, “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” was filmed here.
Insider’s tip: Be sure to ask your bartender what the name “Square Grouper” means.
