Editor’s Picks: Dream Honeymoon Destinations
There are two types of people in the world: those who dream about their wedding day and those who dream about their honeymoon. And here at Jetsetter, we're proud to admit that we fall squarely into the second camp. Here's where we'd go and what we'd do if we were given a honeymoon carte blanche.

Montenegro
"There are many places on my bucket list, but Montenegro's Sveti Stefan would be my dream honeymoon destination. As a photographer and a fan of the ultra-luxurious Aman resorts, I'd jump at the opportunity to experience the over-the-top exclusiveness and beauty of the island which is off-limits to all but paying guests" — Xin Fang, Photo Intern

Hawaii
"I’ll admit I’m a little obsessed with checking unexpected destinations off my bucket list. For our honeymoon, for example, I loved the idea of Mozambique—incredible safaris, sugar-white beaches, idyllic islands—but my husband had his heart set on Hawaii. And boy was he right. (I guess that’s why I married him!) We split two weeks between Maui and Kauai and never have we had more fun—eating too much poke, downing too many tropical cocktails, seeing incredible natural beauty during hikes along the Na Pali coast and inside Haleakala National Park. We hopped between a few hotels, but my favorites included Maui’s Hotel Wailea, a romantic adults-only sanctuary with sweeping views of the sea and surrounding islands, and St. Regis Princeville, on Kauai’s northern coast, where we dined on sushi and champagne while watching the most spectacular sunset" — Lindsey Olander, Editor

Paris
"I’m as anti-beach and anti-warm-weather as they come, so my future husband will have to be cool with the fact that Hawaii and the Maldives won’t be up for consideration. Instead, I’d pack my bags and head for Paris, the ultimate romantic destination. Since it’s a special occasion, I'd splurge on an over-the-top hotel – à la the Ritz – that I’d never dream of staying in on any other occasion. On the itinerary would be aimless walks along the Seine, strolls through the street art in Montmartre and the manicured gardens of Versailles, and definitely a day trip to the abbey-peaked island of Mont Saint-Michel" — Chelsea Stuart, Writer

Maldives
"There's no question that my dream honeymoon destination would be the Maldives. It would be sooo magical to spend a week waking up to gorgeous views and jumping into the sea from my overwater villa at the Gili Lankanfushi Maldives"— Lauren Dishinger, Associate Photo Editor

Thailand
"Ever since I was little, I've dreamed of my honeymoon. Ideally, I'd take two weeks and go to Thailand, where we could get the best of both worlds: exploring the beautifully chaotic city of Bangkok (where we'd stay at the AVANI Riverside hotel for its killer rooftop infinity pool), then hitting the pristine beaches in Phuket. Here, I'd split the time between the Keemala's treetop villas and Sri Panwa's ultra-luxe seaside suites" — Chelsea Bengier, Editorial Assistant

Bodrum
"For my honeymoon, I want to go somewhere untraditional like Bodrum, Turkey. I love that it's laid-back yet luxurious, and has good food, beautiful beaches, gorgeous hotels and a vibrant nightlife without being over-hyped or overcrowded. In the perfect world, I'd stay at the ultra-modern Nikki Beach Resort & Spa (the place known for pioneering the “luxury beach club” concept) and spend my days swimming in the glittering Torba Bay, taking impromptu yacht trips, and strolling the ancient town"— Siobhan Reid, Associate Editor

Yucatán Peninsula
"On any other occasion I’d choose an adventure-filled trip over a pool/beach vacation, but the honeymoon is a different story. For me, a honeymoon should be all about romance and relaxation— and in Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, you can have both. Hotel-wise, I'd split my time between Hacienda Misné and Coqui Coqui Coba. Both are ideal places to hang by the pool with a cocktail, indulge in a massage at the spa, take a romantic stroll through nearby city of Merida, or explore the Mayan ruins in Coba" — Gretchen Moosbrugger, Photo Editor

Turkey/Greece
"My husband and I took a few big trips pre-wedding day and a few trips since, but never an official honeymoon. So, we're planning on taking a month-long adventure through Turkey and the Greek Isles in the not-so-distant future. We plan to get lost in the streets of Istanbul, see the badlands by hot air balloon, soak in the mineral-rich waters of Pamukkale, trek around Ephesus, and bask in the sun at the sexy Macakizi Hotel. Then, we'll head to Greece to take in the magic of lesser-known islands like Paros and Antiparos. Also on my hit list: spending a few blissfully lazy days at Boheme Mykonos"— April Ellis, Senior Photo Editor
