Charleston, SC
This Southern city has the cheapest fares as well as the largest date range of deals, spanning from June through September. Starting at an insanely low $47 round-trip, you can travel non-stop from Philadelphia, Trenton, Columbus, and Cleveland on Frontier and New York City on United (for $137). Without this summer sale, you’d typically you’d spend around $200.
Bermuda
Make a beeline to the beach with these non-stop flights from the East Coast to Bermuda. Starting at $305 round-trip, you can depart from New York City, Boston, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and Miami. Most deals will be found on American, however JetBlue and United are also dropping their fares to match. Your best bet is to travel in July and August. For New Yorkers, American even has an Independence Day deal (July 2-9) from JFK for $316.
Austin, TX
Craving some live music and meaty bbq? Head to Austin on flights starting at $69 round-trip (no, that’s not a typo). Non-stop routes from 11 cities—Denver, Detroit, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Seattle, and Philadelphia—range from $69 to $157, which is a steal compared to the normal fares up to $300. For this deal, you’ll have to book trips for July and August. Keep in mind, budget carriers Frontier and Spirit charge extra for seat selection and checked bags.
Hawaii
If we had to choose a place to wrap up the summer, Hawaii would be top of our list. American and United are offering routes to Honolulu starting at $295 round-trip from Los Angeles, Oakland, San Jose, Santa Anna, and Portland for late-August to early-September. There are also flights available during the same time period to Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. From $284, you can fly out of San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles on United, American, or Delta.

Barcelona
Very rarely does Europe go on sale in the peak summer season, which is why we’re especially excited to see Barcelona flights in the $200 range. If you book in September (hello, Labor Day!), you can fly direct from Newark ($227), Miami ($292), and even San Francisco ($283). Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City (JFK), Philadelphia, Boston, and Fort Lauderdale also have wallet-friendly flights, but they have layovers. You’ll find deals on Delta, United, Lufthansa, Iberia, Swiss, and Brussels Airlines. Note: These fares are basic economy, meaning advanced seat selection and checked bags aren’t included.
U.S. Virgin Islands
Leave your passport at home when you jet off to the U.S. Virgin Islands. Non-stop flights to St. Thomas are on sale from Miami (for $180 on American) and New York City ($286 on Delta). That’s half the price of the usual fare, especially for peak travel times between July and September.
Hong Kong
Usually Asia is the most expensive place to fly, so when deals pop up, don’t wait around. Hong Kong is on sale this August, with discounts on American, Asiana, Air Canada, and United. The cheapest route is non-stop from San Francisco and Los Angeles for $458. Other affordable options depart from Las Vegas, Seattle, Pittsburgh, and Raleigh, among others. The best part? There are no bag fees for the long-haul trip.
Turks & Caicos
The crystal-clear Caribbean is calling with East Coast flights to Turks and Caicos at bargain-bin prices. You’ll save nearly $200 on non-stop flights from New York City and Miami as well as one-stop routes from Boston. Carriers including American, United, Delta, and JetBlue are featuring seats from $225 round-trip. However, the dates are a bit more specific. Miami’s lowest fares are the last week of June while New York City and Boston have the best deals during the first week of September.
