1 Hotel, Central Park

With a popular outpost already in Miami, the eco-luxury 1 has arrived in New York City, clad in green ivy, and just steps away from Central Park. The rustic-chic rooms are done up in reclaimed woods (with free WiFi, Nespresso machines and yoga mats) and include hemp-blend mattresses and custom toiletries. Once you're settled in, head downstairs to chef Jonathan Waxman's farm-to-table Jams, a redux of his 1980s eatery that serves an out-of-this-world bacon cheese burger.

Soho Farmhouse, Oxfordshire, England

On 100 acres of proper English countryside in Oxfordshire, the Soho House group's first resort property is set in an idyllic 18th century farm with 40 secluded wood cabins. The grounds are blissfully vehicle-free though you can hitch a lift on one of the restored milk trucks that shuttle guests around. You'll have plenty to keep you occupied onsite, from biking and cooking classes to treatments at the beloved Cowshed Spa and late-night movies in the screening room.

G Rough, Rome, Italy

This bespoke 5-star boutique in the heart of the Italian capital feels like the private house of the very chic friend you wish you had. The ten light-filled suites pay homage to influential 20th century Italian designers (circa the 1930s to 1950s). Look for a stylish mix of high-and-low aesthetics using cool touches like unaffected weathered 16th-century floors coupled with untouched frescoes. Some rooms overlook Rome's courtyards and charming tiled rooftops while the Penthouse unleashes knockout views of Sant'Agnese church dome.

This Mexican stunner wows with its contemporary-meets-Mayan design, constructed in a V-shape surrounded by lush green jungle. All 314-rooms are decorated in rich walnut and a beachy turquoise and beige palette, and the spacious bathrooms have large rain showers. Bonus: the spa uses the luxury Natura Bisse line and, no surprises here, tequila oils.

The Hoxton, Amsterdam

Just a stone's throw away from the Anne Frank House and Van Gogh Museum, the industrial-chic Hoxton, housed in an epic 17th- century mansion, offers spellbinding views of Amsterdam's canals. The vibe is all 1950s-style Scandinavian design⎯blond woods, deep leather couches, vintage lighting, and splashes of blue, red, and yellow. Don't miss the hotel's Italian restaurant Lotti's, which turns out delicious red sauce pastas and buttery grilled vegetables.

The Four Seasons' first opening in the Colombian capital is situated in the restored 1845 Casa Medina, in the posh Barrio Rosales neighborhood. Inside, you'll find 62 individually decorated rooms that blend Spanish and French influences, some with fireplaces and beamed ceilings. The hotel is riding the city's latest culinary wave with the opening of Castanyoles Raciones y Tapas restaurant (think a dynamite Spanish menu and naturally, a local, robust Colombia coffee).

The Old Clare, Sydney

This 62-room historic hotel is the latest opening in Sydney's emerging Chippendale district. The rooms impress with soaring ceilings, exposed brick, and heritage wood paneling, and the luxe bathrooms stock covetable local brand Triumph & Disaster. Go for a ride on a custom-made bicycle or take a dip in the rooftop pool. Come evening, tap into the hotel's culinary trifecta of Michelin-starred restaurants: chef Jason Atherton's Kensington St. Social, Sam Miller's Silvereye, and Clayton Well's 1930's style, Automata.

Angama Mara Kenya

Angama, a Swahili word for “suspended in mid air” perfectly matches Kenya’s latest luxe safari lodge. At the tip of the Mara Triangle, there are two separate camps; each has fifteen suites, with floor-to-ceiling windows and private decks that look out onto endless miles of Africa's Great Rift Valley. The décor is a mod blend of polished parquet floors, red ottomans, cozy chenille throws, and streamlined white couches. Here, you're guaranteed to see the Big 5, thanks to twice daily jeep safaris, walking treks, and hot air balloon rides.

Keemala, Phuket

Skip Phuket’s touristy resorts and unplug at this small, wellness-focused hotel; it feels worlds away but is close enough to the action if you want it. The grounds look like something out of director James Cameron's Avatar, with orb-shaped "Bird's Nest Villas" hidden among green woodlands and lush jungle; there's even a meditation bridge that leads to a babbling stream and waterfall. The rooms are dressed with intricate wood carved furnishings and canopied beds, and each has a private pool ⎯ the perfect place to take in the sunset at day's end.
