The Rustic Inn, Wyoming

Keep your binoculars by your side during a stay at The Rustic Inn in Jackson, Wyoming, as the property is set on 12 acres near the National Elk Refuge, attracting deer, elk, moose, osprey, falcons and other species to the property. Just a few blocks from the downtown square in Jackson Hole, Wisconsin, you’ll enjoy the best of both worlds – a luxe cabin stay and the lively hum of a town center. Spend your days exploring the snow-drenched slopes on skis, by saddle or by snowmobile, retreating to The Rustic End by night to warm up by the fire pits or to take a dip in the heated outdoor pool.

Camp Wandawega, Wisconsin

For one of the best nostalgic winter getaways, look no further than Camp Wandawega. Set between Milwaukee and Chicago in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, it feels like an adult’s summer camp, with kitschy-named cabins like Chipmunk, a pair of vintage digs; Raccoon, a three-bedroom cabin overlooking the surrounding lake and wetlands; Deer, an old-school bunkhouse complete with retro furnishings, a communal kitchenette, and camp showers; and Bear, another bunkhouse, which comfortably sleeps you and your 23 friends. And the best part? There’s a Manifesto of Low Expectations, so you can break all the rules you want (we won't tell!).

Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado

As a fully-restored ghost town from the region’s mining era, Dunton Hot Springs is a history come to life: Complete with archaeological sites, snowcapped-mountain views, and an endless tree line, the property’s hand-hewn log cabins are the perfect winter getaways. No luxury is spared at Dunton Hot Springs (just ask celebs like Jake Gyllenhall, who are regulars here). After enjoying a deep tissue massage or algae detoxifying body wrap, take a dip at the property’s hot springs in an enclosed bathhouse. The more intrepid can opt to relax outdoors in the bicarbonate thermal springs.
