How to Get There
Had a family two night stay during Feb half term, with two teenagers. Hotel a short walk (5 mins) from the station and across the road from Tivoli Gardens. Short walk across to main shopping pedestrianised zone. Able to walk to most of the city sight seeing musts and Copenhagen card is good if cramming lots in.
Visited the zoo, Nyhavn, Tivoli, palaces, boat trip, ect. Plenty of excellent public transport if needed (zoo) and easy to catch train from airport to central station.
Hotel room was very good and recently refurbished with nice bathroom with shower and bath combination. Had a minor problem with TV when we arrived and they came straight up and fixed it immediately. Breakfast was a mix of continental and some hot items (lovely crisp bacon), with plenty of choice. Overall would recommend as a comfortable hotel in an excellent location.
Stayed here over a weekend and had a really small room facing inwards. The view was into other rooms or out onto the aircondition vents. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfy. Unfortunately lots of noise from a neighboring bar, kept us awake until around two or three o'clock.
I enjoyed the ginger shots they provided at breakfast, but I always miss it when the hotels don't provide omelettes. Would I stay here again? Perhaps on a weekday and if I was traveling alone. Then the cramped space or the noise would not bother me so much.
I don't mind admitting, I was slightly worried about my stay here. The booking site made it look fantastic. So on the strength of that, I booked myself and my girlfriend here for three nights.
Then I read the TripAdvisor reviews and many were not very complimentary.
I had no need to worry. Absolutely none.
I did pay a bit extra for a larger room (414) on arrival that was larger and had a great view of the City Square and HC Anderson Blvd. Its well soundproofed but as you're in a cool city, I wanted to hear all the hustle and bustle.
With this upgrade came access to the complimentary bar on the top floor. I only used this once as we were so tired from exploring but it was nice to know it was there should I have chosen.
The room was very clean. Fantastic Scandinavian design. There was a slight malfunction with the safe door catching on the inside of the wardrobe door but a quick call to reception and this was fixed. promptly.
There is under floor heating in the bathroom and the bath is large and deep... good for a soak after walking or cycling all day
My flight was in the early evening and a quick chat with reception allowed me a late check out and let us leave our cases in the store so we could make the most of our final day without dragging them with us.
I'm thrilled that I stayed here. You can't beat it for location. The staff are fantastic and the place is as cool as the city it's in. Highly recommended
We had a three night stay. Airport by rail to Copenhagen Central railway station approximately 30mins cost 36 DKK. per person. Easy to operate machines, press English speaking and then everything else is easy. Coming back after pressing English, Press the Airoplane sign. Could not be simpler. Out of the station cross the road, turn left and keep walking pass Tivoli Food Hall and other restaurants, Expresso cafe on corner, turn right and keep walking till you get to the square with the Town Hall. Now cross the road to the left, do not go across the road to where Town Hall is. The Square Hotel is now about 2mins away on the left.
We found reception staff, great and very helpful. Welcome check in could not be better. All staff 10/10. Good clean Boutique style hotel. Comfortable bed, pillows, we had a
side street room, quiet and both slept well. Breakfast, with flavour ginger shots we thought a great addition. All the lovely breads and pastries we enjoyed. Hot bacon, sausages, beans scrambled eggs and boiled eggs. Do try the local herring we thought it was nice.
Hop on hop off bus 3 day pass was a great way to fine your way around. 210 DKK for the bus only. 250DKK for Bus and Boat. ( 10 Pounds is about 85DKK. when we were there.)
Stroget shopping Street, pedestrianised only, is just off from the main Square where the town hall is. Good shops, musicians playing, lovely to just walk and take up
the atmosphere. Nyhavn at the end with coloured buildings and lovely seafood restaurants. Must try the Mussels and chips, so fresh. 3 kinds of herring, spiced, curried and plain starter is enough for two. really good. Tivoli Gardens Park is well worth the money, lots of rides for all ages. We were there for Winter theme and Spring is going to be virtual reality, looks good.
We really enjoyed our short break, the people of Copenhagen are lovely and are happy to help you, if you get lost. Very green country, lots of cycling, a real treat not to see rubbish in the streets and parks like in England. Well done!
Hope to be back soon. This hotel we have no hesitation in recommending.
This is the third time we have stayed in this hotel and it is probably not the last time. This hotel is within walking distance to a lot of lovely squares, restaurants and shopping in Copenhagen.
We upgraded to a club level room and that is recommended. It is very nice to have the opportunity to sit on the roof terrace enjoying a glass of wine and snacks free of charge.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
Be aware that the town hall square (right across the street) is under construction. It did not bother us since we were out and about during daytime...
