Very central, basic hotel, mainly for big groups

Location top, walking distance from most attractions. Taxi stop in front of hotel.
Room was modest, very quiet and well insulated (forth floor facing internal courtyard).
The bathroom was acceptable and basic. It was clean but not to the utmost corner; negative connotation, there was poor water pressure in the shower when the building was busy (one morning we could barely have a shower!).
The staff was always friendly.

On the down side, they serve a mediocre self-service breakfast, hot beverages only available with a self service coffee maker (WMF).
We had to queue every morning (literally on the side of the main entrance with cold air) since the capacity is too limited when the facility is fully booked.

Overall building is run down, with a very basic reception, worn-out carpet in most of the building, very old lifts (one is without the internal sliding door), and with little attention to keep it neat.

Not a real palace anymore

Having stayed at this hotel some 15 years ago, I decided to go back there whilst on an European trip with my wife. The location is second to none in Copenhagen and the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is of old classic design and has a great feel. I knew I was not going to get a modern room like the newer hotels but for a high rated hotel I did expect some progress towards some modern features. Our room was good but the shower over the bath was a nuisance. The bath is high and the screen is low making it impossible to shower without getting everything else in the bathroom wet....this problem was amplified by the fact that my wife was in a moon boot....no other rooms were available. Air conditioning struggled to keep the room cool making it a bit uncomfortable at night.
The breakfast setup is very bad making it hard to get food amongst the crowd. What was on offer was reasonable.
I will be looking for another hotel next time I visit Copenhagen

Nice ...could be nicer though

Considering the price one pays for hotels in Denmark, the facilities could be better. The location , as other reviews have pointed out is absolutely perfect with rooms looking out on the Radhudsplassen giving a good view. The breakfast would be a hit with almost anyone ,e.g. kids, vegetarians, gluten allergiacs , old people, etc. The room size was actually quite generous as well. Always helpful when staying with kids and the service was very nice too.

The downside, was that the "Air Conditioning" was an illusion as it was really quite hot and we had to use a fan. The wiring was such that if you wanted the fan running , you needed to keep the overhead lights on ( we actually used those airline eyepatches to sleep). One of the elevators really belongs in a museum and a bit risky to let the kids use it on their own.

This is a great hotel right in the middle of the action. Very close to some great entertainment venues such as Hard Rock Cafe, Rosie McGees and Tivoli Amusement Park. The hotel offers a fantastic breakfast spread with awesome selections.

Great location, wonderful building, helpful staff but.......

We checked into room 341 at the Scandic Palace and we were pleased to be upgraded by the staff to a very comfortable sized room especially considering the age of the property. This hotel is in the best location in Copenhagen, two blocks from Tivioli, three blocks from the central train station and a half block from the Stroget, Copenhagens very popular pedestrian street. Our room was well equipped with fully functional bath area, a set of windows opening onto a nondescript courtyard. The morning breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Plus a very comfortable bed within a stylishly decorated
room. However there were a number of issues for us,
The tub was fully 20" high making it very difficult for seniors to navigate and the slippery bathtub bottom had no traction strips. Very dangerous
The security at the hotel was lax. No control of who uses the elevators and front doors easily accessed by all. True Copenhagen is very safe city but we still need security.
These hotel rooms are not air conditioned or at least our room wasn't. Staff very helpfully provided a fan for our use but this was during a heat wave in Denmark.
Finally I think this room was way too expensive for what we paid($400+USD) and what we received
