How to Get There
One of the best from copenhagen, very good location, nice views from corner room on highest floors, parking under the hotel with direct acces, personal very good and attentive, fitness center very big and complex.
Stayed here for a few nights. The location is very good, with ready access to train services.
The room was OK. Tiny and Danish design, which I would have been happy to give up for something a big more practical. For instance, why is there a pendant lamp attached in the perfect place for a tall person standing up from the seat next to it (which cannot be moved) to hit his/her head?
The double bed was two single beds, with a deep gap in between.
At least the room had air con, which is not standard in Denmark and on warm days came in handy.
The downfall of this hotel was the service. I sent e-mail ahead to notify the hotel of my membership number. This was missed. Once I wanted room service and could not get anyone to answer the phone to take my order for 15 minutes (seriously)--I ultimately went down to place the order at the front desk. An invoice by e-mail upon check-out was promised, but again I had to prompt the staff to send it (no apology for not having done so as they were supposed to). The reply was incomplete, so I had to prompt again--and again no apology.
The laundry service managed to shrink a shirt of mine. Front desk staff promised to follow up, I never heard back.
Used this hotel for a few days before departure on a Viking baltic sea cruise. It very nice and has a fantastic breakfast. Very close to Tivoli and lots of the places you want to see in Copenhagen. Just don't get crushed by a bike rider crossing the road.
This hotel is ugly viewed from
outside (this is my personal opinion) but the interior is fine, decorated in a modern design, scandinavian style of the eighties (it reminds me of Austin Powers movies, if these speak to you). If possible, take a room on higher floor, with view over Tivoli park. At night the view is very nice.
Breakfast is OK. Staff at reception desk are very kind, smily and helpful, although service overall is impersonal as it is usually in those big hotels (not quite 5 stars as the hotel pretends to be).
In a word, a fine and convenient hotel for a pleasant stay in Copenhagen.
This property has so much potential but it is squandered with a mid-2010’s style redesign that reads corporate hq wanting to appeal to the cruise ship traveler. And that’s ok, but don’t stay here if you want your room to look anything resembling what it once did and still ought to. The only soul left in the place is the structure itself—and no doubt that’s saying something because the form and style of the building is magnificent. But the interior redesign—finishes, colorway, etc is all wrong. Service was fine—not bad, not memorable; restaurant was unappealing and there are so many better options even for a simple meal, and location has it’s ups and downs like any hotel does.
