How to Get There
Beautiful, peaceful, and quite: this really sums up our experience at the Kokkedal Castle. We came across this hotel quit randomly as we had to cancel one of the stops in our 7-stop trip; turned ou, this is by far the best stop in our trip. The place is just beautiful and the staff cannot be more friendly.
The castle hotel has the most attentive and friendliest of staff, food beyond excellent, a service level to die for and good rooms. The restaurant serves Danish specialties, that tastes amazingly. The breakfast is memorable. This is most likely the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It is in a class of its' own.
It is quiet and scenic, with the possibility of bike rides in the woods.
We spent a week on a bike trip through Copenhagen and stayed in four luxury hotels, this was our least favorite. The Castle is beautiful on the exterior and the setting is magnificent. The common areas are on the ground floor and are nicely done. Only the second floor has guest rooms. The individuals at the front desk were not particularly helpful. Our room was adequate size, but very dark, and poorly placed plugs for chargers. The bed and air conditioning were satisfactory. The bathroom was tiny and the shower has no door or separation from the rest of the floor, and the drain was slow to drain. The bathroom was flooded with every shower. No bathtub. We were not impressed by the quality of food preparation. As I said, beautiful outside, inside not so nice. Several people in our group who had rooms not in the castle were quite unhappy.
