How to Get There
Very good hotel, almost excellent. Good location, is about 20 minutes from the central station and close to most of the sights. Excellent clean, new towels and always clean. Large room with air conditioning, minibar and coffee maker. Breakfast with plenty of varieties, but very repetitive. Negatives: very soft mattress, had to be firmer, have higher pillows and a more diverse breakfast with more fruit options as we stayed for 7 days and were served the same things everyday, watermelon, pineapple and melon and always the same breads.
Stayed in this hotel for three nights before our cruise we upgraded to a canal view room.bedroom are small very limited storage space bathroom was very nice all mod cons great shower we had a problem with a blocked sink the first day reported to reception and they sent some one to fix it while we were out but now it was leaking again reported to reception to be assured it would be fixed but it was not for the three days we stayed here .breakfast was only ok I found the cooked items to be cold good coffee and pastries .there is a shopping mall beside the hotel fabulous shops.meat packers district is just across the bridge in front of hotel some lovely quirky bars and restaurants, the best way to see the city was hop on buses there are three tours and a canal tour for one price you pick up the bus outside the Tivoli hotel a five minute walk across the road from hotel .loccation was perfect hotel was very busy while we were there a very nice bar and very courteous staff would recommend it.
The good: the location is in a quiet area, about a 20 minute walk into town. Nice view of the harbor. Additionally it is next to a mall with a convenient grocery store.
The bad: The room was dirty-sheets we’re dirty and so was the headboard. The staff is not at all helpful. The most minimal request and they act as if you’re annoying them. I asked the front desk to send housekeeping to clean my room twice and they never came. The manager, Peter, is very nice but his staff has no clue what they’re doing. He assured me I would be able ti get a plate in the evening and that evening I called and they said I couldn’t have a plate. Multiple times I was told to do things myself or get things myself, which is not okay in a service oriented industry. Would not return. Truly an odd experience.
