How to Get There
My husband suffered a massive heart attack while on a cruise ship docked in Copenhagen - he was rushed to hospital for an indefinite period and I needed to find a 'home from home' while he recovered.
The Adina team was absolutely magnificent in their understanding of my distressed state and need to bring family members from the UK to join me. The ability to accommodate us, be flexible and attentive was first class.
I can't thank the Adina enough for creating an extremely pleasant stay in difficult circumstances.
Not only was the Adina flexible and welcoming, the accommodation is very smart, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, roll-out beds for unexpected guests, clean and well designed bathrooms and friendly staff throughout the hotel.
I can't thank the Adina enough for turning a nightmare situation into a very pleasant reality.
Pleasant room without cooking facilites or fridge. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Berakfast average to good. Close to Osterport train station and "Little Mermaid." Centrally located to major part of Copenhagen.
I stayed here for five nights in a 1 bedroom apartment. I arrived at 1am and arrived in my room to find it is not what I had specifically booked as it was twin beds and not a King (despite being booked directly). I was then given what I had booked but very lucky as only one left, but no excuse for the mix up given it was clearly on the booking. My room faced the outside and was pretty quiet with the windows shut despite the train line being very close. The room was a good size with a separate bedroom and generous sized bathroom (although very narrow shower over bathtub with tap where you bang your leg on it). The bathroom had a washing machine and dryer in a cupboard which was very handy. The kitchen was good although I ate out each night so didn’t really use it. The bed was comfortable but the lounge was very hard and not very comfortable and no TV channels in English (no CNN or BBC World). I had breakfast included in my room rate and it was a good selection of most items I would want for breakfast. Ivan, who managed the breakfast was excellent and each morning remembered my Hot Chocolate order without me needing to ask. He makes a good Hot Chocolate and was very friendly and attentive. I tried the pool which was a great size but the water was uncomfortably cool despite being ‘heated’. The location of the hotel is in a quiet area just north of the CBD with a 10 minute walk to Osteport station or 25-30 minute walk into town. Whilst there was a small amount of amenity in the area with restaurants and a supermarket I found the location was a bit of a pain as the walk into the city was long when you were doing a lot of sightseeing on foot which meant I usually used the train and connect to the Metro. I’d consider staying here again for a longer stay but shorter stays I’d want a more central location.
This is the third stay in these apartments. Each time there are minor things that are annoying and would be so easy to fix. This trip there was problems with the television. I stayed for a week and it was not fixed. No apology from management. The couch is a sofa bed that was like sitting on a hard park bench. A coffee machine has been added but they do not provide pods each day. The dining table had a single chair to sit on. I needed to use the desk chair when a colleague came for a meeting. At least the hot water has been fixed. Last trip it would scold then go completely cold! If the position was not so convenient to my business l would look for an alternative.
We selected this hotel because we wanted to be able to prepare simple meals in our room. We booked an efficiency suite. When we got there we discovered the "cooking" facilities were no more than what most US hotels provide without claiming to be apartments. A small refrigerator, a small microwave and a sink. Tableware for 2 and a few dishes. No cooktop and no cookware. The website gave the impression that there was a clothes washer and dryer (another reason for our selection) but the efficiency suite didn't include that--as we were informed when we got there. The cleaning service was spotty-- our room was cleaned once in six days! On the whole we felt cheated given the price we paid.
On the positive side, the morning breakfast buffet is generous, with a good selection. Bed was comfortable and room was clean--the minimum things one expects in a decent hotel. The desk staff were very friendly. Perhaps one of the best things was that the hotel is on the Bus 26 route, which takes you through Copenhagen in a way that most important sites are on the route. Also the Osterport train station is within walking distance as was the Little Mermaid. The sign for the entrance to the hotel is not very obvious and we circled the entire building before we found it.
