How to Get There
We had the pleasure of staying in a lot of nice hotels over Europe (Four Seasons - Firenze, Finca Serena - Mallorca, Villa Della Pergola, Allasio - Lido Palace, Riva - etc..) but rarely experienced the friendliness of the staff in this hotel.
The hotel as such is fantastic, contemporary, peaceful but for sure the staff brings it even more to the next level. They make you feel at home as of the first second. They walk the extra mile. An exceptional team!
We also strongly recommend you to have lunch/dinner in the Albergo Gersonimo (the older mother). Michelin star quality. An amazing experience and an equally excellent staff. Both properties are part of the same group and the people really act as one team.
Alexandra, Maria and team - thank you! We will be back!
My husband booked this hotel for my 50th he had emailed them in advanced to let them know it was my special birthday. This wasn’t acknowledged ( I even mentioned it when we arrived to the surprise of the guy at the desk that I didn’t look 50). My husband joked that when we entered the room all that was left on the bed was a sprig of lavender...for my 50th from the hotel.
We arrived after a bit of a journey and was greeted by a friendly face on reception. Our room was nice on the 3rd floored over looking the pool. Bed was very comfortable and room was very quiet which was good. The hotel didn’t seem that busy and neither did the island though. The room was clean and looked well presented. We were told by the guy on reception that the first bottle of water was free. Let’s face it when staying in a 5 star you expect bottle water to be replenished and to be free each day. Our toilet sliding door didn’t close properly either. When you slide it back open it would rubble and bang when the air con was activated. The lampshade on one side of the bedside cabinet was broken and damaged which isn’t good for the price we paid.
The sun lounges were always available and very comfortable. The hotel is close to the private beech and there is always a nice breeze whilst sunbathing at the pool. Bonus points peaceful, no children and very chilled out area. The sunshine and set sets are breathtaking in Greece.
The spa looked very nice my husband used the gym a few times but said it needed updating with the weights and machines.
The breakfast was ok I had the omelette once thick and rubbery. I really do think they need to up there game at breakfast to what is on offer for 5 stars really. Alexander was so lovely she was always very happy and helpful during breakfasts. Some of the younger men during breakfast who waited on didn’t look very happy.
It’s a good walk into Kos town, so get the bus if you can.lots of lovely taverns not far from the hotel.
This is a lovely adults-only hotel for a relaxing stay about 1 mile from the centre of Kos town. The staff are extremely friendly and professional. The establishment is rated 5-star but does not consistently provide a 5-star experience. This is a shame because increased attention to detail would elevate the hotel to a higher level. For example, the breakfast buffet is relatively mundane but would be improved by the provision of a better variety off fruit, better quality patisserie, omelettes which are not solid and overcooked and a toaster that works effectively. The dinner menu in the casual restaurant is limited and the cooking demonstrated significant variation in quality between the two days on which we dined there. The spa is comfortable but, again, has a limited repertoire. The accommodation was comfortable but the air-conditioning failed too cool the entire room effectively. All in all, these are relatively small issues which could be easily reviewed and fixed in pursuit of the consistency and high quality which is the mark of a 5-star establishment. Overall, we enjoyed our stay (6 days) and must compliment the General Manager and her staff - especially Maria in reception and Alvi in the restaurant. This hotel is well worth a visit.
