A fuss-free resort with private beach, freshwater pool, tennis courts and beach volleyball in northwest Kos

The Lowdown

The modern seafront Ammos Resort boasts a private section of beach, a large freshwater pool set within beautiful gardens, a sweeping sun terrace, tennis courts and beach volleyball to burn off your Greek cuisine indulgences, and spacious, bright rooms for an easy night’s sleep.
Undoubtedly one of Greece’s most popular Dodecanese islands, you can discover a different side to Kos on the tranquil northwest coast. See raw natural wonders by diving through crystalline waters, or explore the island’s ancient ruins, castles, temples and churches via newer bike-only routes or by car. Be sure to stop off at local fish restaurants that populate the coastline and eat fresh, salty fare straight from the sea.

A little bit outdated

At first should mention very friendly and helpful staff. Although rooms require renovation. Very nice view from the balcony. I am very fastidious about food so this time hotel will not receive a praise from me. Normaly I would give 3 stars but because of the wonderful staff 4* goes to this hotel.

Visit 16th October 2019

We have just returned from a weeks break and from the start the hotel has been amazing, we had to change the dates of stay at the last minute due to being let down on a booked Thomas Cook flight and they were so accommodating in rearranging the dates, thank you. When we arrived( at nearly midnight due to a delayed flight) we were greeted by the ever helpful Sperio( what an asset to the hotel that man is) who took the time to check us in and show us to our room following an arrival drink and cold towel. As mentioned in previous reviews the staff are amazing here, from Nicnoletta( forgive the spelling) on reception to Yanis in the bar and all the waiting staff in the restaurant. We went in the last week before they closed for the winter and it was very quiet in guest numbers but they still kept smiling. The hotel was in need of some updating but i guess this will be attended to in the close season, the food wasn't for me as there was a lot of fish on the menu but that is personal choice, the pool was lovely, the bar great and the weather was fantastic, the resort is a little isolated with a cab ride or a half an hour walk in to the nearest town( along a lovely coastal path accessed form the next hotel down), the beach as mentioned is accessed via a steep slope from the hotel( not out of the front door and down a road to the side as previously mentioned) but it is a bit sad and access to the sea is difficult because of the rocks). Overall I have to say we had a lovely time and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to someone who wants a quiet break away in a good value nice hotel staffed by the best hotel staff I have ever come across. Keep up the good work. Thanks to all.

Looking forward to retuning

This hotel is excellent. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff are tremendous. Nothing seems too much trouble and all effort is made to ensure that guests have a good holiday. A particular thank you has to go to Ms Olga Mouratidou, the hotel manager, who went out of her way to fulfill our requests. We look forward to returning.
