- Enjoying a sundowner, as well as your welcome drink
- Renting a bike from the hotel and exploring the island’s cycleways
What To Know
- The manicured gardens and large sun terrace add to the ambiance
- There are tennis courts and beach volleyball if you fancy yourself a game
- Free WiFi
The modern seafront Ammos Resort boasts a private section of beach, a large freshwater pool set within beautiful gardens, a sweeping sun terrace, tennis courts and beach volleyball to burn off your Greek cuisine indulgences, and spacious, bright rooms for an easy night’s sleep.
Undoubtedly one of Greece’s most popular Dodecanese islands, you can discover a different side to Kos on the tranquil northwest coast. See raw natural wonders by diving through crystalline waters, or explore the island’s ancient ruins, castles, temples and churches via newer bike-only routes or by car. Be sure to stop off at local fish restaurants that populate the coastline and eat fresh, salty fare straight from the sea.
How to Get There
We stayed at Ammos for 7 nights. The room was clean although we would've preferred a tub in the bathroom. The food was good & offered a variety of cuisines. The staff made an effort to make us feel at home. Restaurant staff including Maria & Yanas were lovely & always smiling. The hotel entertainers Ellie and Nick are a credit to the hotel, they're so kind & include activities for both adults and children. The manager Olga was nice & even drove us to the airport when there weren't any taxis available. The pool & jacuzzi is nice including free cocktails and ice cream at the pool bar. It is easy to get sunbeds in the morning. The private beach nearby is great & doesn't get too busy. The local town is a 5 min taxi drive with nice restaurants, I recommend The Light Blue Restaurant & Bar and The Saloon Cafe. There is a restaurant called Dolphin Bay right next to the hotel, I would recommend the mojitos are nice there. The service is a bit slow but justified as food is made fresh. The hotel offer excursions, I would recommend the 3 Island Tour. We would consider staying at Ammos again. A great stay if you want a quiet relaxing holiday
Just arrived back home after a lovely holiday at Ammos Resort.
Beautiful surroundings and views of the island of Kalymnos, the hotel and pool area are kept very clean, there's plenty of choice of food in the restaurant with fantastic views of the pool and across to Kalymnos. As a Vegetarian, there's plenty of choice but if you unsure about some dishes Olga (the Manager) will be able to advise, if need be the Chef will always prepare another dish for you.
All staff were very friendly, especially Yiannas behind the bar and Olga who goes out of her way to assist with any problems that you may have during your stay. Well done to the Animation Team (Nik and Ellie) who were always friendly and took the time to chat with all guests but weren't too intrusive. We enjoyed the Aqua Gym which we've never done before! The evening entertainment tried to be inclusive of all guests with quizzes and music which were good fun.
Many thanks particularly to Olga, hotel staff and Nik and Ellie for a memorable holiday.
The hotel is quite basic but the rooms are adequate (we had one of the best!) clean and fresh. There is a lovely pool and plenty of sunbeds. The only bar is at the poolside, which is a bit of a bind but not too much of a problem. The only downside to our trip was the quality of the food which left a bit to be desired. Little seemed to be prepared fresh and I suspect that most of it came out of catering packs and was very repetitive. The manageress was brilliant - couldn't do too much for you! A real gem. Very efficient and very helpful.
