How to Get There
This resort was fantastic, we had such a great time and will definitely be back. We stayed at the TRS Yucatán, which is the adult only side of the Grand Palladium complex. We booked the Junior Suite with the in-room pool, which was so nice. The staff was amazing!! I would like to specifically thank:
Alan at Helios
Maria, our butler
Roberto, at the infinity pool
Elmer and Alejandro (restaurants)
The food was a bit hit or miss... We recommend the Brazilian Steakhouse, El Gaucho, and the breakfast buffet at Helios. Also, the food at the infinity pool was good for snacking and lite lunch. The Cabaret Show was amazing! Such a cool experience and great food, definitely make a reservation early, especially if traveling with a large group (we had 14 people).
We spent most of our time at the infinity pool (the cabanas) and didn’t go to the beach until the last day (it’s at the other end of the resort from the adults only) and it was beautiful! We were sad we didn’t go earlier. Also, the spa is beautiful and offers a number of free services, which we didn’t have time to take advantage of, but I wish we had! The saltwater pool was cool, we didn’t really “hang there” but it was neat to see at least once.
We had a snafu with the complimentary shuttle as the number in our party changed and it was *impossible* to reach anyone prior to leaving. Also, we booked the onsite scuba introductory lesson and they lost our reservation, even though I had an email confirmation. This didn’t seem to be an issue although the lesson started an hour later than had been previously communicated.
Love this resort, I’ve always stayed at the colonial side in the grand palladium but this year we wanted to try something new so we stayed at TRS and it was worth every penny and more! Very clean, excellent food and the workers treat you like family. I will always recommend and come back!
I stayed at this hotel from 6th - 9th March on part of an educational with Palladium group and I can say this hotel is fantastic. I loved everything about it from the rooms (I was in a junior suite) near the helios beach bar. The restaurants are fantastic Chic cabaret is a must.
If you are looking for an adult getaway this place should be on your list it wont disappoint :-)
We recently came back from here what can I say, the hotel itself is beautiful and the staff are brilliant, very friendly and helpful. You were made to feel special.
The rooms are beautiful and done to a very high standard but the lighting needs to be improved as it is quite dark in their while trying to get ready.
The butler service is great, a special mention for villa 65 Paola who was incredible. Throughout the hotel it is all to a very high standard. We were around the infinity pool most days another special mention to Alfonso and Ivan at the bar, they were great and kept the drinks flowing. There is plenty of sun loungers around this pool so no need to be up early for towels down unless you would like a cabana.
The Chic cabaret is incredible and would definitely recommend to go, the food was our favourite here and the show itself was great. Helios was always good service if you sat inside, Alan was brilliant and the manager Alejandro was great, we didn’t like a dish that was made at breakfast but didn’t complain and he was straight over seeing if they could do anything else, after this everyday he made sure we were okay. I would say it can be quite quiet on a night the entertainment could be improved on the TRS side, the other resorts are like cruise ship entertainment so I wouldn’t recommend going their unless you do like that.
Now the massive improvement that needs to be made and the major disappointment for us was the food, you were lucky to get a hot meal, it was luke warm every time and it seemed to be the case across every restaurant in both the TRS side and the Palladium side and the majority of the guests we spoke to said this too and one even mentioned they had been previously at nearly full capacity in October and the food was so much better then which seems a bit odd as you would think at their quiet time they would be more focused on this. It did seem they concentrated more on the presentation than the food itself. We did bring this to their attention but it seems even when mentioned it was still the case. The TRS restaurants are better than the Palladium side don’t bother going to this side unless you go to the Japanese Teppanyaki, we heard from other guests this was great we didn’t get chance to go.
Just to note on the restaurants which we weren’t aware of and wasn’t communicated very well during March their are a lot of restaurants shut on different days do make reservations with your butler to make sure you aren’t disappointed. We saw people turning up for restaurants being told 45 minutes to wait but it was not even half full and also we met some friends here and it seemed an inconvenience to have a table for 6 and it was an issue every restaurant we went to even when there was about 6 tables seated.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and would come back if the food was improved to a 5 star rating to match the hotel.
We visited the resort for our 1st wedding anniversary and were surprised with an upgrade from the Romance Villa's at Kantenah to the adults only sanctuary of TRS. You have access to the Spa as well as every bar and restaurant in the 4 hotel complex. The rooms are amazing and very clean and new. If you get the villas 60 - 63 you are super close to the white sands pool, the beach, all the amenities of the TRS as well as most of the best restaurants in the hotel complex. The staff at this resort were some of the best we've seen anywhere we have traveled, from the reception and customer service to the grounds staff they were all pleasant with smiles and said holeanearly every time we saw a staff member. If you have a chance please take this recommendation to check this place out, we will be back!
