Treated like royalty in Paradise

It’s been 3 days since we arrived home from spending an unforgettable week at TRS and the withdrawal pains that others mentioned are real and strong.

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and much research, we choose TRS to celebrate our anniversary. Initially we were going to return to the place where we married 15 years ago, but after some debate we decided to try something new. We are grateful we did and this place epitomizes service and hospitality to a level we have not experienced elsewhere and a few reasons why it sticks out in our mind.

When we arrived we were greeted immediately by the staff and brought over to the reception desk for check in. A wash cloth and a cold beverage followed with an explanation of the map and some of the services. We were taken to Villa 69 and the bell boy brought up our luggage promptly and explained our butler will be up to explain and show us how to use the features in our room. We appreciated this explanation for sure as Claudia showed us how to order room service from the T.V. The standard room is large, we had a jacuzzi on the balcony but didn't get a chance to use it. The bed is comfortable and better than other resorts we've been at.

We choose travel destinations for two reasons: food and service and this place ranks high in both.

Food – we tried the various restaurants at TRS and at the White Sands, Colonial, Kantenah (which TRS guests have access to) and were not disappointed. Restaurants at TRS are definitely of a higher caliber than the ones at Colonial, Kantenah or White Sands.

La Boheme is the French restaurant at TRS and overs a variety of classic French dishes. Some good ones to try are the Surf and Turf, French Onion soup and the Crepe Suzette.

El Gaucho is the Argentinian Steak House at TRS and served a variety of steaks and side dishes. Service here was EXCELLENTE (as our server would say).

Tentazione is the Italian restaurant at TRS and this was our favourite. Must tries include: squid in spaghetti with prawns, Thermidor Lobster, lamb and for dessert the tiramisu and cannelloni. Our waiter Antonio was amazing, he ensured our glasses were never empty and refilled my Tamarino (tamarind) margarita without me asking. He was such a delight and made our last evening at TRS special.

Helios for dinner is a Mediterranean restaurant – some must tries include the grilled octopus and surf and turf. Our waiter Ivan was great, anticipated our needs and ensured we walked away full and happy.

Sumptuori is the Japanese restaurant at Colonial and you have a choice of two seating: Teppanyaki or restaurant seating. We enjoyed the regular restaurant menu with a variety of hot and cold dishes, sushi and dessert. I loved the fried ice-cream.

I must admit though the service staff at the other locations are not at the same level as TRS staff, however they try and manage. We used room service quite a bit and there's a good selection of items to choose from, you won't go hungry.

We enjoyed the CHIC Cabaret Show (with dinner served) and I suggest they revamp the menu and dessert. The show was energetic, entertaining and definitely of a higher quality than shows you get at most resorts. The production, costumes, performers are all very professional.

What makes this place unique in terms of service – ALL the staff go above and beyond to make you happy, they are super friendly, personable, work hard to keep the place spotless, and pay attention to the details. Whenever we go into a restaurant with my beach bag, they immediately come over to your table with a small rack to hang your bag and hat on. If you are not happy with your drink and without asking, they bring you something else similar to what you have, if your room needs a light bulb changed they get on it right away and when you return from the beach it’s done. They always ask how your day is going and if there’s anything you need or they can do for you. They will call the carts to come pick you up anywhere you want to go, and if you forgot your scissors, they have a pair for you to borrow. Our villa butlers Claudia, Jessica and Erick in Villa 69 were so helpful and personable. We enjoyed talking to them and they took care of our every need. I also loved that I didn’t have to pay extra for lobster or Wi-Fi like you do at other resorts, this makes complete sense to have something like Wi-Fi for your guest to use without extra charge.

Have you ever received service in a way that restores your faith in the service industry? We have on a some occasions and it would be dismissive of me to not mention one in particular. It was Friday night after we had gone to the Chic show and celebrated our anniversary and we returned to our room to wind down. I logged onto my online banking and realized there was a problem with a transaction on my Visa that didn’t go through as expected and knowing this caused me stress and it had to be resolved immediately as it would impact future transactions. I wanted to call the Visa company and called the front desk first for assistance. They were initially unsuccessful in getting me through and asked that I go to the front desk for help. When I arrived Mohamed at the reception desk greeted me and was fully aware of my situation by the time I got there. He called the operator to assist and after a couple of tries I got the Visa company on the phone to resolve the issue. The whole time he was patient and was willing to try different options to assist me. When I finished the call, I inquired about the long distance charges that I should be expecting and he advised there would be no charge as TRS recognizes emergency situations like I encountered and this was a way to assist guests. In the hospitality and service industry, this is the gold standard, I was prepared to pay for it but to know that they empathized with guests in situations such as these, left a heartfelt impression on me. Thank-you Mohamed!

What else can I say about this place? Well, it’ was magical for us to spend our anniversary here. The grounds and landscapes at all the hotels on this grand complex are impeccably kept thanks to the hard work of the grounds staff. These people don’t get enough recognition and work so hard. Thank-you for making this place look like paradise everyday. They are always cleaning (yes, even cleaning the signage for our villa), laying out floor mats when it’s rainy, cleaning glass, and so much more.

All the staff at all the restaurants we visited; the greeters, the waitresses, and waiters were so friendly and helpful. The bartenders at the bars were very creative with the drinks. I loved the drinks and we got the best ones at the TRS lobby bar in the evenings with one particular bartender. I didn’t get his name but have his picture and will post it here.

We were fortunate enough to enjoy a spa service at Zentropia, the onsite spa and worked out once at the gym. The spa is a great place to relax in the afternoon even if you’re not getting a treatment. As guests of TRS you have access to the hydrotherapy services, lazy river, sauna, etc. It’s so relaxing here in the afternoon and after a short nap you can get a smoothie or energizer shot at the smoothie bar.

The beach in front of TRS is not accessible because it’s really rocky. However, there is a reserved section for TRS guests only down at the Kantenah section.

I was also able to find a lot of information and get some answers to my inquiries from members of the Fans/Addict TRS Yucatan by Palladium Facebook group. I recommend you join this group to get information and details you yearn for when planning a trip. You also get very addicted to the post and info leading up to your vacation

In writing this review, I hope it puts your mind at ease that you made the right choice or making the right choice if you’re considering the TRS Yucatan.

Amazing 11th stay at Palladium (TRS) Riviera Maya!
Reviewed 1 day ago

We enjoyed every minute of our weeklong stay at TRS Yucatan. It was our eleventh vacation in this resort complex and first stay at the new TRS. From the moment we arrived until the time we left we were provided with the friendly, warm, caring service that keeps us returning to Palladium time after time. We were first greeted by Willy in reception at TRS who got us all squared away. Black VIP bracelets were given, which gave us access to everything we wished for. Then we were whisked to our room by the amazing Diego who hauled ALL of our luggage up three flights of stairs at once! Don't know how he did it! Our room was a beautiful junior suite on the top floor of Villa 67, and our room had a fabulous ocean view which we enjoyed every single day.
Our room was lovely and very modern and had everything we could possibly need. The new design is beautiful! The room had plenty of closet space, a place for shoes, a powerful hairdryer (yay), and a steamer for clothing (which worked well). The separate shower/toilet area was great, and there was always plenty of hot water, nice shampoos, etc. The bedlinens and towels were of very high quality, the mini bar was stocked with drinks and snacks we had previously arranged through the e-butlers (Many thanks go to Cynthia and Martha for all of their efforts to ensure our stay was perfect!) The four bottles of liquor we had preselected were also there for us. Our room offered a fine view of the infinity pool and sea beyond. We enjoyed coffee out on the balcony every morning, would relax out there after a day at the beach/pool, and also in the evening. Our butlers were Mariana, Guillermo, and Jesus, and they were always there ready to make a reservation for us or help in any way possible. The villa was very quiet at night and perfect for sleeping.

Our days were spent on either the Kantenah end of the beach under palm trees or palapas or at the infinity pool. The Kantenah end has always been our favorite spot, and we were delighted to see dear Fernanda at La Jarra before she left on maternity leave. The infinity pool is nothing short of amazing. The Palladium design team is to be commended for the vision they had in transforming the former Riviera section into TRS. Everything about it is phenomenal!! We were blown away by its beauty!!

The food at TRS was the best we've ever experienced at a Palladium Resort. Breakfasts were typically enjoyed at Helios where Martha and Alain provided exemplary service. Their warm, friendly manner, excellent service, and overall sweetness are what keep bringing us back to Palladium. Martha even taught my husband some Mayan, and they would have fun with their lesson of the day. We tried Capricho once for breakfast, and while it was good, we preferred to eat outdoors at Helios. On our last day we ordered room service since we had to leave quite early. The food arrived on time and was delicious, and included more than we could ever eat. Worked out perfectly for an early departure though. That was the only time we took advantage of the room service offered.

Our favorite TRS restaurant was El Gaucho. The decor and atmosphere in that restaurant is second to none. On our first evening we ate outdoors on the deck, which was quiet and romantic. On our last evening we ate indoors and had fun enoying a cocktail before dinner at the bar while watching the talented bartenders at work. They're incredible! Franklin was our server that evening, and he is great!! We ordered sooo much food that evening!! Everything was delicious. It was lively and fun and so tasty. The manager, Amando, came over to check on us and we went on and on about what a great meal and evening it was. Can't wait to return! We also enjoyed La Boheme and had the onion soup that people keep raving about. Now we know why! Tentazione was also wonderful. Everywhere we went we received excellent service and were pleased with the quality of the food. We did not have dinner at Helios, but enjoyed some lunches off the menu there that were all good. Went to the buffet by the Colonial pool one day due to its proximity to the beach, and had a fun lunch with entertainment. Loved all of the entertainment throughout TRS during lunchtime as well. Attended Chic Cabaret and had fun enjoying the talented dancers, singers, and musicians. Fabulous!

We tried to visit the spa on most days to enjoy the lazy river and various pools. Such a peaceful spot at the resort. Don't miss it! As always, we walked pretty much everywhere. Love all of the pathways through the jungle, and made it a point to enjoy each section of the resort while there. They're all very beautiful!
During our stay we had the pleasure of meeting Carlos Froilam, assistant manager who was most kind and helpful along with Cynthia Yadira Gonzalez. They work so hard to make TRS the amazing place it has become! Thank you!
We met many travelers from around the world during our stay, which was so fun. It was an extremely relaxing week for us as we celebrated my husband's retirement, and we look forward to returning next year to our home away from home. Thank you TRS for everything!!

Great stay at trs Yucatán
Reviewed 2 days ago

Long ride from the airport, but the resort was absolutely beautiful! We stayed in the romance bungalow which had plenty of room and very clean/modern. As odd as I thought of a soaking tub in the same room as bed it was in a corner and not in the way.
The hotel staff were very nice.
The grounds were immaculate. Every day there I just couldn’t believe just how great of a vacation it was.
We spent most of our time at the trs pool which was perfect; and able to get a bed by the pool every day of our trip!
Not much of a night life or shopping at trs; but you could take a golf cart or walk over to the sister resorts which had things going on as well as shops; ping pong, corn hole, and other various activities by the pool that trs did not have.
The drinks though were watered down which is a huge downside to the resort. In order to get a decent buzz you had to get champagne; otherwise you weren’t feeling any effects from liquor no matter how much of it you drank!

We ate at Helios every morning; which was delicious and typically had lunch there as well. All the food but the Brazilian resteraunt was delicious.
Also went to see the chic Cabernet show which is a must see. My boyfriend and I aren’t people for shows but figured that it came with our stay and reading everyone else’s reviews we needed to go- so glad we did. The food was different at the show so if your not adventurous with your food I recommend eating prior to going. During the show they gave you shots were to my surprise and liking was not watered down alcohol!! The after party was a lot of fun but it is not necessary to go to the preparty as nothing is going on and your just sitting there waiting forever to get a drink before the doors open.

I would stay at the trs Yucatán again. My two biggest complaints of the resort are the water downed drinks and the distance from the airport to hotel. The biggest compliments I give the resort is how clean everything is there, the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, and the food was delicious which is extreme hard to find at all inclusive resorts.

전 가족들하고 또 올거에요!!!! one of the world best resort I have ever visited. All of the staffs are amzaing and environment itself was worth it. Definitely I will come back here. Gracias!!!
