How to Get There
Just returned from TRS Yucatan after spending a fantastic 11 nights. The resort is amazing but especially liked the specific TRS restaurants and pools rather than the facilities of the other hotels in the complex. All the staff were friendly, smiled and spoke to you from the butlers, cleaners, restaurant staff to grounds and maintenance staff. Would especially like to give a big thank you to staff that went above and beyond. Our butlers for 6535, Jeanette, David and Rafael, Yvonne at the entrance to Helios who’s always remembered us and Marta there too on the waiting staff and finally all at the fabulous Groucho Restaurant from Lizbeth who greeted us with such affection and warmth, to Adair who kept us amused at the bar and all the other staff there. Would definitely return
I have just returned from a weeks all inclusive at this resort and I can not find fault. Our room, junior suite was on the ground floor with our own plunge pool. The room was imaculate , modern and very stylish. Everyday it was cleaned and all amenities topped up, including our nespresso pods and tonics for our bottle of gin, all a girl could need ! The restaurants at TRS are amazing, al-la-carte no evening buffets which I personally prefer and each restaurant had its own theme. I found both the Italian and the French to be outstanding. The Chic Caberat is included for TRS guests and this is a show and meal not to be missed, I am not surprised it has won awards. The facilities are extensive as you can use any of their other 3 hotels and they provide golf cart transportation to get you around this extensive resort. TBH the quality is so much better at TRS other than the fabulous gym and spa we did pretty much remain in our complex. We did try the Tapanaki restaurant in one of their other resorts and while it was a great entertaining meal the food quality did not live up to that of the TRS restaurants. The infinity pool was stunning and we only had 2 gripes firstly too many sunbeds with towels on and we never saw any guest use them and some inconsiderate people played their own 'boom boxes' with their own choice of music even when there was hotel entertainment going on. All staff were friendly and accommodating from bars, around the pool, transportation and restaurants. A special note has to be made to say our butlers Eric and Rafael were superb and not only gave advice on were to visit out of the resort, assisted with restaurant/ transportation bookings and even left little treats in our room like wine and one eve we came back to a little bottle of tequila with with shot glasses and lime. We certainly felt like royalty and when finances allow we will definatley return to this heavenly place.
I am generally not a fan of all inclusive resorts and prefer more "adventurous" travel, but when we travel with a group, AIs tend to keep the masses happy and entertained. This was our second trip to this resort. The previous trip was 3 years ago when it was "The Royal Suites".
We experienced a couple hiccups upon check in - room not being ready for ~2 hours, but our bracelets worked, which resulted in our butler thinking we were breaking in to random folks rooms (that started us off on a good note with him - not), but nothing that would make us recommend the resort any less.
Our butler Eric in Block 64 was phenomenal. Eric would always sit and have a chat with us and had a great sense of humor as well as good local knowledge - we took a Collectivo to Tulum after his recommendations and had a great group trip.
We had a great experience with three staff members in particular. Jorge at Helios would greet us whenever he saw us across the resort, and we were always pleased to be sat in his section. He went out of our way to make us feel special each day at lunch.
Romeo the cart driver was a fan favorite among our group. His laugh is infectious and he really went out of our way to make sure that we were taken care of.
Erick at La Terazza bar was another favorite of our group - he dealt with all 10 of us with ease and engaged in some playful, fun conversations, even under pressure of being extraordinarily busy at some points.
These three individuals are true assets to TRS.
I do feel like there were a couple occasions where we waited a significantly long time for carts (once at Zentropia and once as we were running against dinner reservation cutoff time). Again, this is not something that would keep me from returning, but I feel like the growth from The Royal Suites to TRS has created this bottleneck.
The humidity in our room was the only other issue. Our room had a slight musty scent to it the entirety of our stay, but honestly we were only in there to sleep so it didn't bother me all that much - everyone who visited our room did make note of the smell though.
That being said, the food options are great and the infinity pool is beyond beautiful. We stayed in a junior suite with a private pool and while we didn't use it much, I would highly recommend it and would probably rebook it again in a future trip.
