How to Get There
The room I had was big with a great view of Lake Michigan. The hotel was huge, classic, good bar, good restaurants, and Starbucks onsite. The parking situation is not ideal, meaning it is $28 a day to park your car and there was no valet to help you park or retrieve it at this price. The parking was close and covered, so that is a bonus. The biggest problem with my room was the size of the bathroom. If you are a large person, this bathroom would not accommodate you in the least - in fact, you might not be able to get to the toilet. The door is situated so you have to close it or precariously wedge yourself around it and against the tub to get to the toilet itself. This might not be the case for all of the bathrooms, but the setup in mine was questionable! Overall a good stay, comfy pillows, and nice staff. Just beware of the closet-sized bathroom!
We stayed here with the convention and the room, meeting rooms and service of the staff was excellent. The pub is amazing with great local brews and it was nice to be able to stop and visit Millie. The ambiance of the hotel is wonderful.
This is a beautiful hotel located centrally and has the best staff. They make Midwinter Game Convention a pleasure to attend every year during the bitter cold of January. I gladly come from mild weather on the west coast to the bitter cold of Milwaukee in January for the convention and to stay in this lovely Hotel.
Our stay was very nice in this classic hotel. Rooms were clean and the service was top shelf. The door staff were very helpful and provided suggestions on how to make our stay better. The heat didn't work in our room, and it was always cold. Our neighbor down the hall said his room was stiflingly hot. But, we failed to report it to staff as we assumed it was just the old building and the location of the room. So, that one is mostly on us for not giving them a chance to fix it.
Recently stayed at the Hilton City Center and from the greeting of Tim (Bell hop), check-in with Dillon, Bags from Scott, outstanding customer service. Beautiful décor, very elegant. Room was very good and very comfortable bed. Shower a little dated but did the was OK. Great amenities, Miller time pub, Chop House restaurant, Starbucks. Truly enjoyed our stay. Slight glitz when I checked out with young man at front desk but worked it out. Definitely will return. Dillan at Lobby bar was also outstanding.
