Located in Wisconsin’s Kohler Village, one of the first planned communities in the country and named after the pioneering company that produces bathtubs and faucets, the lakeside hotel blends modern-day ambiance and convenience for business and leisure travelers. All 121 rooms feature the signature Kohler shower experience, with multiple fixtures that make every bathroom feel like its own spa. The black-and-white room décor is simple but contemporary: crisp white duvets, upholstered headboards, and white tiled bathrooms. With four championship courses nearby, the hotel is hugely popular with golf enthusiasts, who make up the majority of guests during warm-weather months. A five-star spa, complete with a European-inspired swimming pool and the latest in Kohler fixtures, and sports club that features an indoor pool, racquetball courts, and dozens of classes, round out the amenities.
In the Area
The inn may be a hole-in-one hit with golfers, but travelers of all types will find plenty to keep them busy in Kohler Village, which traces its roots to the early 1900s and is a tourist destination on its own. More than 20 shops and boutiques specialize in men’s and women’s apparel, antiques, and collectibles; there’s also a food market with a demonstration kitchen. Within easy walking distance is the famous Craverie Chocolatier Café, a French-inspired sweet spot with a dizzying selection of exquisite pastries and chocolates: the Original Buttery Terrapin, a delectable mix of chocolate, pecans, and caramel, is a perennial favorite. Snap up some unique, Midwest-inspired souvenirs, like a locally made apron, at The Wisconsin Trader. Wrap up the day with a pint at the Horse and Plow, a historic tavern that was once the watering hole for Kohler Co. workers.
How to Get There
Went with 2 girlfriends for a quick getaway to Kohler to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Loved the Inn on Woodlake! We stayed in the 2 BR suite and it was perfect. Nice comfy beds and linens and loved the shower of course! The only thing I would add is a rug in the living area. Just to warm it up and give the area some sound absorption. Nice continental breakfast too! Received such amazing service at check out from Katie! She found out that it was my friend’s birthday and quickly gifted her with a bottle of wine and chocolates. She was so nice and friendly. Thank you Katie! So enjoyed the popovers and some tea at The Craverie! Great shopping and service wherever we went. Can’t wait to go back!
What a great little Kohler Corporation property. It is stylish, well staffed, equipped and clean. Most important they welcome well behaved dogs and their owners for an additional $100 fee.
All the sites and conveniences of the Kohler destination are at your disposal.
You can stay for much more per night at the main lodge but pets are not allowed there. Stay here and have access to everything for much, much less.
This is a very nice establishment, personally I would rate it 4 star if only for the lack of certain amenities, otherwise it is a solid 5. Rooms are extremely comfortable, with as you would expect, top of the range bathroom facilities. Conveniently situated for the surrounding golf courses and within a short ride to Sheboygan this is a very nice place to lay your head.
Got into Kohler early and ask them to call us whenever the room was ready never heard from them until we showed up at 4 and I had to carry my bad and my husbands bag up to our room.
After dinner wanted to watch the Cubs Brewers game call the front desk and ask them if they could please give us the channel number so that we could watch the game as our TV did not have a guide so we had no clue as to the channels. The front desk was NOT helpful. They did not even know it the network was direct tv, at&t or some other cable network. Not even nice about it. Pretty sure we will never come back to kohler again.
We stayed at the Inn on Woodlake this past weekend. We booked a Lakeside King room for one night so we could stay for the evening and then go to the Spa the next day. The room was nice- normal hotel room. The shower with 5 different shower heads was amazing! I liked the little Atrium area where you can grab a drink and sit outside- and then in the morning there is complementary breakfast. The breakfast had something for everyone. I also had to run down to the little shop to get some toiletries and they had everything for a reasonable price. The staff was very kind and willing to go above and beyond. They knew it was our Anniversary so they brought us a bottle of wine and a card to celebrate which was a nice touch. We enjoyed our stay but I think next time I would spend the extra $$ to stay at the American Club or the Carriage House.
