How to Get There
A group of six of us booked this hotel via Secret Escapes. We were allocated rooms in the conference centre which were OK and we didn't plan on spending much time in the room anyway. Sadly the bar prices meant that we didn't spend much time in the hotel either with a single vodka and coke at £7.50 no wonder. The spa in the hotel is lovely and is a real bonus. The spa staff told us dressing gowns were in our room but housekeeping told us because we were not staying in the Executive rooms we didn't get dressing gowns in the room. However they kindly got some for us so we were very pleased with how helpful they were. Housekeeping staff were efficient and thorough in their work but the bar staff seemed inexperienced and very slow in bringing our drinks out to the garden when we first arrived. We asked the reception staff about bus routes into Windsor and were told that they didn't know about the buses as didn't use them. No thought to finding out to help us though so we got taxis to and from Windsor. If you stay in a conference room be careful when getting out of the bath as there is a hard strip that extends beyond the lip of the bath; I hit my leg on this several times causing a large painful bruise. Ascot itself is worth visiting but doubt we would stay in this hotel again.
I came here with my sister and nephew to visit Legoland. The hotel was very welcoming and the rooms were tidy and comfortable. I must say that the restaurant and bar needs improving. During both of the dinners we had, it took more than 45 minutes for our dishes to come... and the second night we only ordered a starter and still took so long. On Saturday afternoon we had tea with cakes and it took half an hour for it to come. For parents, it is understandable that kids cannot wait so long for a meal to arrive. Although the whole experience was very pleasant, the meal times made it more difficult to appreciate the environment and the food.
Some negatives on here that I cant agree with. I had no problems with check in. We arrived late but they held our dinner back. Raf the maitre'D is brilliant, and fun, and has the light touch you'd expect. Large room, very comfortable bed. Great shower, scenery and yes its a tad tired and creaky, but it all adds to the ambiance. Food was good. I dont think brilliant, but it was perfectly adequate, a bit overpriced. As was the drinks bar. Parking excellent, grounds spectacular and surrounding area lovely. Didnt go in the spa. Afternoon drinks on the terrace very well done and organised well. Overall, very pleased with this hotel and hope to go back sometime
Stayed here for my birthday weekend for two nights, lovely hotel, check in was nice and easy. Got into the room and it was very clean and spacious with a lovely plate saying Happy Birthday and two little cakes on it. Yummy and a lovely little touch.
Breakfast was good, had a tasty cooked veggie breakfast and although no veggie sausages were out on the buffet, they cooked some especially for me and felt the staff were attentive.
Overall a lovely weekend and the hotel had a lovely feel to it, some of the carpet in the hallways were a bit tired but it was wasn’t an issue. Lots of free parking too. Checkout was quick.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again.
Amazing stay. Spa was fantastic. A special thank you to Matthew Hunter who checked us in and out the next day. He was efficient friendly and showed exceptional customer service. A real asset to the hotel. I couldn't thank you all enough. All staff very helpful and hard working.
