How to Get There
A pleasure to stay at this wonderful hotel and spa , fantastic food , breakfast, lunch and evening. The staff are most accommodating nothing was a problem accessibility great , spa excellent , please take to visit this jewel in the heart of Surrey .
I am staying at Beristede for many years now. The hotel had works and the rooms are ok, if you can get an interior room. Otherwise can be very noisy with the street, since very early in the morning.
Unfortunately this time the service was to slow: took 20 min to have coffee and tea in the breakfast, th employee that was in the reception in the morning was not able to do the check-out and print the bill and at the end wrongly charged me an UK adaptor that i just returned... need for a refund and second receipt.
Also on my room the TV remote command was not working as well as the lights next to my bed.
Is still a convenient hotel but expensive taking into account the service offered ... and now the breakfast is not included in the room rate.
So we booked a package which included a 2 night stay, a welcome bottle of prosecco in the room, a spa treatment each, dinner on the first night and afternoon tea on the second afternoon - just perfect for our minimoon...or so we thought.
We got there half an hour before check-in time, but after checking that the room was ready they said it was ok to check in. The lovely gentleman at reception said that he put us in the honeymoon suite as it was available for the 2 nights that we were staying there. As we had come pretty much straight from our wedding, we had cake with us and they kindly kept it in the fridge for the duration of our stay.
We went up to the room and although it was quite big, it was nothing spectacular, with views of the roof and there was no welcome bottle of prosecco :( Later that afternoon, we called the restaurant to book our table for dinner only to be told that we were already booked in for 7.15pm, not sure when they were going to tell us that?!
We also went down to the spa to enquire about our included treatments. At first there was no one available on the spa reception to talk to us, we shouted, no reply and then waited for around 10 minutes until someone came out. We had been told upon booking that we could book our treatments when we got to the hotel but when we asked there was no availability! The only slots were 2pm (for an hour) and 2.30pm (for 30 mins) on our day of check out (which was 11am) so relucantly, and with no choice, we held these under our name.
Dinner that night was tasty, but be aware, no drinks are included and we had to pay extra for these.
The hotel is quite an old building and it seemed the walls and ceilings were very thin, we could hear people in the room above moving around late at night which kept us up, and early in the morning which woke us up.
We spoke to reception about the prosecco and the noises from upstairs and they put a note on our booking. When we got back from town later that day, we had our afternoon tea which was really yummy then asked for the prosecco to be brought up to the room, they said it would be sent up straight away. 45 minutes later it arrived!!
At breakfast the next day we got a missed call from the hotel, so after eating, popped to reception to see what they wanted. The said it wasnt them and asked if we had a treatment booked, if so it could have been the spa. We went back to the room and called the spa, they told us they had us in for a 10am booking (it was now 10.35) and an 11am booking(?!) but also the 2pm and 2.30pm bookings?! We didnt want to have to hang around so one of us took the 11am slot and we got a refund for the 2nd spa treatment. As we checked out, there was an extra £50 charge on our bill for dinner the night before, which we did not have(!) as we were too full from afternoon tea. Good thing we noticed this and said something as they took this off.
At the spa, they never asked what treatment I wanted, and I ended up with a full body massage - which would not have been my first choice - I asked for it very light pressure as I don't like massages, but I didn't feel that comfortable and for some reason the music wasn't working which just made it awkward.
All in all, a nice stay, but we would have hoped for a little more...
