How to Get There
We did almost everything on offer: skiing, snowboarding, tubing, spa and ate at all the restaurants. Staff is exceptional, great with kids and helpful at every turn. Even on a fully booked weekend we were very well taken care of. A real treat!
we couldn't be happier with our stay at the lodge over this past new year's holiday. not the lap of luxury, but nothing whatsoever to criticize -- comfortable room with everything we needed, including a small fridge; spotless, close to the ski hill.... and not that it's a big deal, but the warmest greeting i've ever received at any hotel when we rolled in at the start of our stay.
we stayed at the "red roof inn" (mt washington hotel) last new year's eve for one night, and for that one night paid more than what we paid this year for all 4 nights at the lodge (including new year's eve). the hotel is famous, beautiful, and "grander" than the lodge, but the lodge is a *far* better value. and.... at the hotel, it was a serious 'hike' from our room to our car stashed in a semi-remote parking lot, whereas at the lodge the car was parked practically right outside our door! this may not be important to everyone, but on a day when the wind chill is 0° or below it makes a big difference, and is far more convenient no matter the weather.
bonus points: we had to unexpectedly cut short our 5-night stay, and left a day early. given the sold-out holiday season and their quite reasonable cancellation policy, i was expecting to be charged for all 5 nights. at checkout, i mentioned that we had to leave a day early, but said nothing more about it.... and to my surprise i subsequently discovered that we were only charged for 4 nights, instead of the 5 that we had reserved well in advance. how swell is that?!
there's no question at all that we'll stay at the lodge again the next time we visit bretton woods!
The food ,staff and scenery was wonderful. There wasn't one thing we would have changed. We loved the outdoor activities and enjoyed our evening sleigh ride. The only problem we encountered was there wasn't coffee available during the day at the Inn.
The service at the Omni Bretton Arms Inn was wonderful! Everyone was so lovely and helpful. It was very convenient to go between the Inn and the Resort via a shuttle to enjoy the pool, spa, and meals. The setting is absolutely magical. The only downside is that despite the room being very expensive it was not clean. We had two queen beds and one of them had a dirty sock in it and also the bedspread was covered in dog hair. It lead us to believe that they had not cleaned the sheets before we arrived. Luckily, the other queen bed seemed to be clean.
My wife and I visited the Bretton Arms for the Thanksgiving weekend. Service at the hotel is top notch. Parking is convenient. Our room was a nice size and the bathroom was well appointed. However it did take a long time for the hot water to be engaged by the shower. Also the refrigerator in the room did not operate and we did not realize this until our food went bad. But I guess that these are small issues.
Shuttle buses to the big hotel ran frequently.
Views from the terrace of the big hotel of Mt. Washington are spectacular.
We enjoyed 2 dinners at the Breton Arms dining room. Both meals were great as was the service.
