How to Get There
The Cliff Hotel in Negril had everything we were looking for, beautiful large pool with a bar, fantastic restaurant with great patio and a wonderful staff. Taji Reid provided easy reservation & provided transfers etc with easy. Tamara, Rochelle, Nicole and ONeil provided wonderful service for B L & D, always with a smile. Mike and Andre fantastic bar service. Kasey watched over the brave souls who dove off the cliffs & Latcia made sure our room was perfect. One of the nicest resorts we have ever stayed in, nice moderate size. Meal plan available & a good idea. Loved every minute of our stay. We had a second floor OV room with large balcony. Villas are beautiful too. Hard to go wrong.
Just returned from a quick trip to The Cliff. I originally booked the trip to travel solo for much needed R&R, but brought my son at the last minute. Overall, we had a great time. We stayed in room 101, and my 1st day, I was utterly disappointed with the view. I thought I booked an ocean view, but all I really saw was the fauna, with a (very very) distant view of the ocean (see pic). The room was comfortable, but basic. What makes The Cliff stand out is the staff. Every one was super friendly and very helpful. On our last full day, my son decided he wanted to jump off the cliffs. The lifeguard on duty was so helpful and stayed in the ocean so my son could jump several times and keep me calm (I cant swim and was nervous). The Zest restaurant is great for breakfast, but if you want authentic Jamaican food, avoid it like the plague (see pic below for what they serve as jerk chicken). Go off site for authentic, true Jamaican food (check out Kool Vybes for great jerk chicken, Sips & Bites, and Sweet Spice). Overall, both my son and I had a great time. Super friendly staff, the resort's other guests were very warm and personable. This is a great place to stay if you want R&R. The resort is nice, but not sure if I would classify it as "luxury".
My daughter and I enjoyed a week of total relaxation amongst the soothing tones of The Cliff. Large rooms decorated in taupes and white with expansive private verandahs gave us so much living space, we didn’t have to see another person, except perhaps someone gliding across the lawn to deliver our delicious breakfast to our verandah’s dining table.
There is a rambling winding pool, with swim-up bar, but there is no sandy beach. We didn’t miss it. The hotel is perched cliffside with about a 6 foot drop to the crystal clear Caribbean. There are ladders that allow you to enter the water slowly, or you can jump. There is always a lifeguard on duty. If you forget your mask and snorkel, no worries; the hotel has a supply for loan.
There is one restaurant, Zest which serves up some fabulous Jamaican cuisine. You can eat inside or out, but out offers great views of the sea and sunset. The patio is shaded by a glorious almond tree and is large enough to accommodate everyone who wants to eat out.
The hotel only has 30 rooms so the service is personal and unobtrusive at the same time.
We totally loved our stay and will definitely go back.
OMG...where to start. Gorgeous, spectacular, peaceful, clean, welcoming and private. Surpassed our expectations! The employees were always engaging and welcoming. Each of them was very helpful. The front desk (Oreta) made a reservation on our behalf to Ivan's restaurant and we were treated like a VIP with the best seat in the place and just in time to see the beautiful sunset. All this to say, the employees at the Cliff are the best you can find in Negril.
The property maintains; lush gardens that attract various birds, an activity area which has a pool table and other fun games, a charming pool, lovely lounge spaces by the ocean and complementary yoga classes in an peaceful ocean front setting. We attended two classes, it was a minful way to start the morning. What is vacation without a little pampering? So, we booked massages and Carolyn was awesome in making us comfortable. She delivers her massage with passion and knowledge of her trade.
We opted out of the meal plan so we could enjoy the fresh local cuisine, however, we were delighted by the hotel restaurant, The Zest. The food offering is hard to resist. Once you taste it, you love it. We tasted much from the menu and each time we were pleased by the freshness, flavour and presentation of the meal. O'Neil and Nicole both provided excellent attention during our morning breakfast. Thanks again for that rich 'decaf' jamaican coffee!
We spent a very pleasant and relaxing time on this wonderfully well managed property.
As of note, this proprety is located in a lush area and there are mosquitos. Be prepared and bring repellant.
We strongly recommend The Cliff !
