Excellent and a true vacation

This place was amazing from no fuss at check in and even when we left. I read the reviews and I was a little skeptical. Rooms were nice nothing fancy but the balcony was so private and relaxing. Spacious. The food was wonderful. The desserts were great. I actually have no complaints. The staff couldn't have been any better. The yoga teachers were top notch. The water sports guys were patient and I even learned to wind surf. Every single staff member was professional. I have been home for two weeks so I can't remember all the names but I even met the owner, Izzy.

You will not regret going to couples swept away. A special thanks to the entire stafff

Summer Camp Mixed with An Elegant Country Club

We arrived at Couples Swept Away late at night and had to be lead to our room (2108) in the dark and then venture on our own to a late dinner along the lit pathways and through the loud sounds of the crickets and tree frogs. We had no idea was in store for us the next morning (but had some ideas from the lists of activities and map which are provided upon arrival).

As we opened our shutters in the sunshine we found incredible plants, winding pathways, ponds, little waterfalls, and beautiful architecture which is situated to maximize privacy. Gorgeous.

Food is important to us and the executive chef has managed to mix the best parts of Jamaica into the offerings throughout the resort. Try the achee, oxtail, the goat!!! Learn about the fruits (many can be found on-sight if you look up!) and veg.

Activities on the beach were all wonderful. The snorkeling staff made each snorkel trip an adventure and were kind and patient with those who were just trying their first dive, and gave good direction for those who could venture further. The night dive was worth the additional cost and wasn't nearly as scary as predicted!! Great experience although a little crowded.

Yoga on the beach was nice...but not nearly as lovely as in the studio in the sport complex. Gorgeous. The whole complex is lovely and quiet. Great juice bar (and coffee).

Piano bar is a good time, sing-a-long, grab the mic and laugh a lot. Martini bar is elegant and fun. We never made it to Aura (we are early risers).

The highlight for our trip was the bonfire (just like the end of any great day at camp). Being serenaded by the most beautiful voice and guitar as we watched the dancing flames will be a memory we will never forget.

The vibe in this Jamaican owned resort is very laid back. Do what you want (there is a lot to do) or do nothing. No one will bother you. The relaxed and elegant atmosphere leaves you feeling pampered and carefree throughout your stay.

A few pointers:
*Bring a coffee travel mug (their cups are REALLY small and a delicious coffee on the beach would have been wonderful)
*Earplugs might make sense if you are a light sleeper. Not a problem for us and we were in one of the buildings along the street

Day visit let down
Reviewed 4 days ago

While we were staying at swept away's sister resort nearby [Couples Negril] we made plans to visit CSA on their "trading places" day pass. Our plans also included paying for a local to come in with us. He suggested we call ahead and check with the front desk on this. I waited till Monday to make this call assuming that to do so on a weekend risked talking to a part timer and getting wrong info. I called twice and was told no problem. Come friday he takes a taxi from 35 minutes away and is refused entry under the premise that the occupancy rate is over 90%. I explain to the front desk that this policy was not mentioned when I called ahead so I am shifted from one level of management to another repeating my story 5 ?6? times including to Karen [Jordan?] the GM without resolve. Why they could not take my $100 and let him come in for lunch and drinks and all ends well made no sense to me. So he leaves for home and the 4 of us head to the beach, put up a red flag and watch a server walk past us and ask the couple behind us [their flag was laying on the ground] if he could get them anything. Luckily we were served moments later . We walked the full length of CSA and the only music we heard was a guests own device.
Now for some good news. The lunch buffet was rated by us to be better than CN, the watersports team are more friendly than at CN and all their skis are out to select from. Some will like this beach, some will prefer CN's beach. I think they are both beautiful.

We plan to return

This resort has plenty of value for your dollar. We love it because it is adults only. This allows for plenty of relaxing time . The staff is friendly and helpful. The resort is well cared for , very clean. The food is surprisingly well prepared and interesting. We were usually too worn out from tennis and beach walking to spend much time with night life. We hope to return for a third visit!
