Couples Negril is widely celebrated for its pristine cleanliness and vibrant atmosphere, with many guests commending the resort's well-kept grounds and lively entertainment. While the rooms are deemed clean and comfortable, some reviewers suggest they could benefit from modernization.
The attentive service provided by the staff earns high marks, enhancing the resort's appeal alongside its ample amenities, including water sports and easy beach access. However, opinions on value are divided, with some criticism directed at room quality and overcharges.

This was our second visit to CN, I think you always wonder when returning to a resort if it will be as good as the first time. Yes it was, from start to finish our vacation was close to perfection. We enjoyed every meal, our room in building 4 was lovely, staff were consistently helpful, the beach is amazing and the weather was great. I really hope there is a third trip in our future.

We spent ten days at Couples Negril in mid-March. It is a wonderful resort. We arrived just as the Coronavirus was just starting to heat up. The resort beach is one of the nicest we have experienced. Soft sand, clear blue water and the bottom is also sandy with no rocks, stones or weeds. This is an older resort so the rooms are not over the top as some newer resorts may be, but they are very clean and nicely maintained with nice walk in shower and comfortable bed. The staff is very friendly and work very hard. The food is probably the among the best we have experienced. The pastries were awesome! Not only do they look good the also are delicious.
The rooms in building with three floors and there are no elevators. We had a first floor room so that was not an issue. This resort is the probably the smallest we stayed at but we loved the size. I believe it has only 250 rooms, so about 500 guests. The main restaurant is the buffet opened daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beach grill is open for lunch and at night is an Italian restaurant. There is an Asian restaurant open in the evenlng and a reservation only restaurant for dinner.
We did have a a couple of issues. There were several days when our room was not cleaned until between 4 and 5 in the afternoon which was inconvenient. We were told by a guest that had been there before that this was not usually a problem. It could possibly be as they were taking extreme measures in sanitizing the rooms, which we can appreciate due to the Coronavirus. There were a few times when we would order a drink and have to reorder as it did not arrive, but that was a minor problem. One suggestion is if you are looking for quiet do not stay in rooms in 6000 numbers. It is right next to the buffet and starting at 8 until 10 every evening the entertainment is very loud!

We just arrived home from a very nice trip. We booked a beachfront suite and we believe we had the best room in the place. room 1201. They advertise room service for the beach front suites, we never used it. They also bring appetizers in every late afternoon, early evening which consist of not very good sweets. I don't think anyone would get these rooms for the appetizer. We loved that it never felt crowded. I have read other reviews saying you do not have to go early to get a chair, and that is true, unless you want a beach chair near a palm to get some shade. The swimming pool looked great, but we loved swimming in the ocean so never went in the pool. The swim up bar is not really a swim up bar. If you are swimming you have to get out of the pool, walk around get in the area of the pool that has the bar. We never used that bar. The restaurant service was great in the restaurant that required room service, but book it early. Our favorite was Heliconia at night. It is an Italian bistro with excellent atmosphere, good service and decent food. We only used the buffet for breakfast, because if you wanted a good breakfast that is the only place. You don't have to walk far to get anywhere. Lychee restaurant was not very good at all. Only ate there once. Overall, the service was nice, but I felt there were some staff, that would have rather been somewhere else.
The beach was perfect and that would be the reason we would go back, but not sure if we would like it if we didn't have that same room. It is a nice intimate easily walked resort that had everything we needed.

So the resort is on Bloody Bay, the Couples Swept Away Resort is one bay over on 7 mile beach. Our stay was Feb 3 - Feb 19 and it was awesome. It’s a smallish resort tucked into the palm & coconut trees with a culture that’s hard to beat. Attached is a resort layout. The quietest blocks are 5 and 9 if you’re a light sleeper. We were on the 3rd floor of block 5 (#23 on map). It’s a great beach to swim in or just walk the entire stretch, even do a bit of local shopping. Everyone is so friendly and helpful on and off the resort throughout our stay. The cleaning staff were meticulous throughout the resort but special thanks to the staff looking after our room. It was a joy to return to such a clean fresh room after a tough day in paradise. Kudos to Kevin who runs the tennis program and a big thank you to Chris. Each week a there’s a visiting tennis pro and Chris was here our first week and he made the tennis drills & games loads of fun every day. A shout out to the water sports team as well. The scuba was professionally run and the dive sites were just minutes away which made it so easy. All the toys were in great shape from paddle boards to kayaks to Hobie Cats and the staff eager to help. The food doesn’t disappoint either. We enjoyed everything from the curried lobster & beef (great valentines special), to rack of lamb / gourmet cheeseburgers / beef tenderloin / fresh fruit and fruit smoothies ( the list goes on!). During our two week stay we never tired of the food. The pool & hot tubs looked great but we mainly stayed on the beach and in the ocean. No need to get up early and save a beach chair as there were lots of chairs & towels. My only complaint, as a non smoker, was the smoking. The smoking policy does not seem to be enforced (is there one?) and from our balcony to the beach by the end of our stay we grew tired of the constant smoke / cigar smell. Perhaps some non smoking areas on the beach would be helpful as well ashtrays in the smoking areas......hence the 4/5.

I have been to resorts in Cancun, Antigua, Hawaii, the Bahamas, and other wonderful locations. Never have I experienced such warm, loving treatment as I have by the Jamaican people, and never have I been treated in such a way as I was by the staff and crew at Couples Negril!
The amenities are countless (even during the pandemic), the food was delicious, the atmosphere was beyond expectations. The care the staff took to ensure safety and health was unbelievable.
Bloody Bay is tranquil and peaceful! Couples Negril employs security on the beach which limits vendors from pushing unwarranted solicitation to the guests. However, the beach is clean, attentive, and full of wonderful people such as Donavan, a local that visits the beach each day with his guitar and entertains guests with his beautiful music.
Ackeem and the rest of the event staff are warm and inviting. They go out of their way to get to know their guests and ensure a perfect vacation for all that come. The piano bar is alive with Paul, who gets everyone involved with singalongs and hilarious color. He is not to be missed!
The room service and cleaning staff are continuously attentive to ensure the most thorough disinfection of the entire resort. The resort is small and intimate,
This was our first trip to Couples, but it definitely will not be our last!!!

This was our 2nd visit to CSA Negril and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Our room was clean and comfortable, complimentary minibar products were provided and refilled daily. Food selection was great, and all was of excellent quality and taste.
We were lucky enough to be there on New Year's eve. The cocktail party included a very impressive display of exotic appetizers and the wine flowed freely in a beautifully decorated room. Entertainment at the cocktail party was a very talented local band that played and danced to a wide variety of songs.
The New Year's eve meal was plentiful (surf n turf), tasty and served in a most professional manner. Entertainment was a male singer with a wonderful voice who sang a wide variety of songs.
The New Year's eve beach party was great fun and went long into the night and early morning.
We truly enjoy snorkeling at this resort. The water sports staff and ships crew are some of the nicest people we have met in Jamaica. They truly work hard to ensure all customers are safe and have the opportunity to enjoy themselves.
I should note that my wife and I both can think of things that we could complain about but we advised staff of those things when we experienced them and staff remedied each concern quickly and efficiently.
We had a wonderful vacation and will return again in the future.

On 13th Jaunuary 2022, my husband and I travelled to Couples Negril for an 11 night stay. On arrival we were greeted by the receptionist and offered a glass of champagne, then we were shown to our room, which was bright and clean.
Everything was clean and the grounds were beautiful and so well kept. The beach was raked every morning and looked wonderful!
The first couple of days we spent by the pool, but then moved to the beach which was quieter and, as the sea was warmer than the pool we decided to swim in the sea. At about 10am each morning a member of the bar staff came round handing out red flags so that when you wanted a drink, you stuck the flag in the sand and they came and got your drinks order.
The staff were delightful and so helpful.
The choice of water sports was excellent and all included in the price, we tried Paddle Boarding, Kayaking and Sailing, none of which we had done before so the brilliant staff gave us a brief lesson and off we went. We also went snorkeling several times which was great. We found the morning session was best for us.
There were other activities offered during the day and I found the Aquacize at 11am each morning was fabulous. The most difficult part was getting into the pool which was freezing!
There is a choice of 4 restaurants. We chose not to eat in the Cassava Terrace in the evening as we prefer table service rather than a buffet. Our favourite was Otaheiti, where we were lucky enough to eat 4 times during our stay. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. The Lychee restaurant which was also very good serving very good Asian style food. The Heliconia Restaurant serves lunch and dinner and we ate there at lunchtime and also a couple of times in the evening, which was also very good. The beef patties were delicious and with a salad either from the buffet or the Veggie bar was enough for lunch. Breakfast in The Cassava Terrace was excellent with so much choice, but on the one occasion we ate there for dinner was very disappointing. The food took over an hour to arrive and when it did it was cold and overcooked.
The Spa was lovely, very quiet and peaceful and I had a wonderful Reflexology foot massage with Doreen which was simply superb!
The housekeeping staff worked tirelessly, our room was cleaned beautifully and each day we were greeted with a different animal sculpted out of towels it was a really lovely touch.
All in all we had the most wonderful stay and really the only let down was the evening entertainment which lacked imagination. The only evening to really stand out was the steel band 'The Silver Birds' who were quite simply amazing. Other than that it was the house band each night, which really wasn't to our taste. The main stair way from reception to the pool area would be a brilliant place to put a large screen for a film night.

We were 2 couples that frequently travel. The hotel was basically what we expected. We were disappointed with the bar selections. They say they serve premium alcohol but that is not the case especially during the daytime. The bar hours need to be rearranged. We are somewhat early eaters and like a cocktail prior to dinner. Restaurants open either at 6 or 6:30pm but the only place to have a cocktail is around the pool so there we where dressed for dinner but majority of people were in bathing suits. And the only bars open had a terrible selection of alcohol. We couldn’t even get a basic vodka. Very disappointing. Their piano bar did have a larger selection but didn’t open till later and we prefer to sit outside and enjoy the warm weather. Another disappointment was the inconsistency of covid protocols. Visitors are expected to wear masks when entering all restaurants. Many people ignored this simple request and we witnessed people being allowed in without enforcing the rule. Also temperature checks were not always performed. Our favourite bartender was Amay, this lady can make a cocktail. Other bartenders are in need of some training. We actually had to show some bartenders recipes for basic cocktails. Housekeeping was great.
We enjoyed our stay but there is room for improvement.

Just returned from our 3rd visit to Couples Negril (‘17 , ‘18 & ‘21). CN has done a remarkable job adjusting for all this COVID-crap. A few procedural changes; lots of staff along buffet line, they put your food selection on plate. Very intentional on cleanliness; they routinely remove and power wash A/C units in rooms, remove blades from clg fans for cleaning, I even saw them wipe down the billiard balls on the pool table. Restaurants still put out well prepared and presented food.
For the first time we ventured onto the auN beach and were pleasantly surprised how accepting and friendly other natural bathers were. “You meet the nicest people on a nude beach”... that’s the title to a book I’ll write. Wow, there was just no judgement about body type or fitness. My very prudish wife and I soon felt right at home.
We did some socializing, but folks respect your privacy it you desire. Though we aren’t big on sun tanning, it is so relaxing and comfortable to shed that swim suit. And this is not one of those hedonistic beaches where PDA and couple swinging goes on. Very pleasant experience and the CN beach/surf is totally awesome!
We will definitely be visiting CN and auN again next year!

We just got back from Couples Negril and we are so happy we went! Based on this trip we will definitely go again.
Airport: Couples has a great lounge at the airport so you can wait for your transportation in a cool, comfortable space while you enjoy an ice cold Red Stripe.
Transportation: The bus was clean and cool. The driver was friendly and masks were worn by all.
Arrival at the resort: We were greeted with a cold glass of champagne and many friendly faces. Check in was quick and easy and our room was perfect.
Resort: The property is beautiful and we were very impressed with all the additional cleaning we saw happening. Nyeesha took the time to introduce herself to us and kept our room spotless and stocked with clean towels.
Everything is centrally located so you don't have to walk a mile to the pool or beach or restaurants. Masks were required indoors and the staff wore masks in most areas.
Food & Drinks: DELICIOUS! There wasn't a thing we didn't enjoy eating. The buffet was great and the beach party was fantastic. Lots of choices for lunch and snacks. Only the fine dining restaurant requires reservations for dinner and we were able to eat there twice.
The only complaint we would have is that they only have Red Stripe for beer. A choice would be great. The mixed drinks were good, though. IvyLynn was the best at the pool bar. She introduced us to a Caparino, which is a Mojito without the mint. Fabulous! All of the staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't meet one grumpy staff person!
Entertainment: The house band (Roots Harmonics) was really good. Perfect to listen to while eating dinner or playing cards on the patio. The best was Paul in the Piano Bar. We met him at another resort up the road a couple of years ago and were so excited he was going to be at Couples. He's a rock star and makes the sing-a-long so much fun for everyone! Thank you Paul!
Advice: Do your homework and make sure you have all the Covid required documents with you and ready. Having everything in hand at each check point of the trip made it go very smoothly. Air Canada was great and very helpful in getting us checked in at both ends.
We understood that guests had to be vaccinated, however, found out later in the week that not everyone was. That was a bit of a disappointment. Everyone is required to have a negative test before coming, however.

I noticed many options for GF folks- at the buffet there’s a table specifically designed for GF items, and things on the main line are always labeled if they are GF. They do ask about 98% of the time when you are seated if you have any food allergies, etc. I think you will really like this resort!
In my estimate, between 20 and 30 percent of guest would visit Au Naturel designated area during their stay at CN. Everyone is treated equally, no privileges, clubs or tiers.
Many patrons are returning guests who enjoy nude sunbathing and choose one of Couples resort just for that reason.
Nude patrons however do enter and exit ocean without any restrictions, so if you want to avoid them, simply don't walk along the beach toward Royalton or pick sister resort
Couples Swept Away. No naturist section there.
They can arrange it, but might I suggest YS or Mayfield falls. Closer, and just as fun.
The fitness classes are posted daily on the wall outside the fitness room. There's usually a cardio, strengthening or yoga class at 8 AM, 9 AM and 4 PM with a water aerobics class at 11 AM. The type of fitness classes change as they have a guest fitness instructor each week that determines what to offer.
I also might suggest booking Club Mobay. Great Lounge, and you can get a drink and bite to eat before you board the shuttle. Also expedited through immigration and customs.
