How to Get There
2nd visit and was just as good as last year , we were in block 8 2nd floor with an amazing view, thanks to the staff especially Tyrone for sorting our beds out each morning and the guys keeping the beach clean , a massive thank you to Sheree for looking after me after I got sunburnt the first day, and Marion in the mahogany for breakfast in the morning , wonderful staff all round , also chemise (not sure of spelling) for serving the drinks at the bar and on the beach , nice to see some of the same buskers on the beach as last year all really nice guys , hope to see you all again in January , love sue and Phil
First a shout out to the great staff: Roshane and Devoina our personal butlers, Stacy-ann & Roxanne (had our coffee just as we like it ready for us in the morning at the beach coffee shop), Sheri and Rohan the beach butlers who set us up every morning with towels on our bed and loungers. The list go's on, fun friendly staff all around! Our room 12203 was in building 12 second floor. Nice view of the ocean. It over looks 7 mile beach bar so got a little loud at times but was no big deal to us (kind of entertaining to people watch) You only need reservations at two of the restaurants which we never had a problem getting. Food was excellent, never had a bad meal. The best rooms are in buildings 9,10,11,12 with rooms closes to the beach end. Rooms at the other end of the buildings are close to the highway out front and may be noisy. You could not find a more beautiful beach anywhere, it's absolutely fabulous! This was our first time of many more for Azul, already booked for next year!
We booked a last minute week break here and could not be more happy that we did! As soon as I saw the beach i was in love, soft white sand and warm clear water with plenty of sea life. We were in block 1 im the adults only section of the resort. The room was lovely, especially the large balcony with snuggle chair and a sea view which we weren't expecting. The food at all the restaurants was delicious, especially the Italian and Asian. All the staff are really friendly and welcoming, a special mention to Kristina who makes the most delicious cocktails at the pool bar. The entertainment that we saw was good, especially the reggae beach party. If you fancy parasailing just pop next door to Rays watersports, they were very helpful and a good price. If your after a super chilled holiday in paradise this hotel is the one to book!
We came here for my brothers wedding and I absolutely loved it. The only issue I had was that we paid for an ocean front room, but got a room that only had a view of the stairs. The waiter Andrew was absolutely amazing as was all the staff. Everyone was friendly and welcoming.

Ocean view = view of sliver of ocean when at the door to or on the veranda, unless in room closest to beach.
Room furnishings stark and uninviting. Couch - large brown stains. Black mold in corners of shower and around edges of the glass enclosure. Shower leaked onto the bathroom floor.
Hot water for showering after running water for minute or so. Water frequently and rapidly changed between scalding hot and uncomfortably cold while showering. Shower leaked on bathroom floor.
Room was cool but damp. Bedding damp. AC blew on the bed - too cold when the AC on and too warm when off.
Not able to make restaurant reservations. Told that restaurants are often fully booked months in advance. Mostly buffets. Sometimes no plates. Food selections somewhat diverse, but quality comparable to lower to mid price U.S. restaurant chains. Exception- grilled meats when available.
