Wild coastlines, safaris teeming with ambling elephants and the biggest concentration of leopards in the world, tropical seas with blue whales and spinner dolphins, Sri Lanka is an untamed Eden waiting to be experienced. Once a Dutch colony, the country has also retained its colonial architecture, lush tea plantations and love for cricket. Grown into its own, Colombo is a vibrant city rich in heritage and culture.
All of Sri Lanka’s wonders can be experienced with a stay at the luxe Anantara Kalutara Resort. The resort sits surrounded by water – between the golden sands of Sri Lanka’s coastline and a peaceful lagoon of the Kalu Ganga River. The resort’s design was inspired by the vision of Geoffrey Bawa – Sri Lanka’s most famous architect. Elegant with modern interiors and touches of traditional motifs bring a sense of peace and tranquility to the spectacular property.
Relaxation is the order of the day here. Dream away in your comfortable lagoon-view rooms, take languid dips in the outdoor pool, get a massage at the Anantara Spa or take excursions through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.
How to Get There
We booked an Ocean View room through Booking.Com, and the hotel offered us a room with a terrible stink in the bathroom. Then said they were unable to fix it and couldn't offer us a room change either. Also put in an oil burner without telling us, to mask the smell. My daughter ended up with an asthma flare-up. Finally, to top it off, they thought a token discount of a few USD from our final bill would settle it. Small consolation. Taking a night's cost off our tab may have been more meaningful. Disappointing. Don't go.
We left feeling very relaxed and would have liked to have stayed longer than the 7 nights. The staff were amazing, the food was perfect and the facilities 5 star. You get value for money and our two daughters Isabel and Evie were treated like princesses for the whole week. Great pool and kids club.
Will stay again in the future
Great customer service; friendly and knowledgeable staff; very hospitable; loved the room and pool facilities; very nice breakfast selection; decent beach; value for money; not too far from Colombo airport (took about 1.5 hours)
We recently stayed for 8 nights here as a family of 4 and the staff, food, rooms, pool and resort were all outstanding. Very clean, incredibly friendly and attentive staff, couldn’t do enough for us. Would 100% recommend this resort to friends and family. Fantastic for kids. Rooms very spacious, modern and clean. Best curries. Thank you for some wonderful memories!
We spent a few nights at this resort and had the most amazing time. The rooms are beautiful and the service is great. One thing that really stands out though is my experience at the spa. I booked the Bespoke massage which helps work the kinks out of areas of your choosing and a pedicure. My therapist for both of these was a lovely lady named Aprilya. She did a great job on the massage and the pedicure. She is kind and friendly and you can really feel that she takes great pride in what she does. A wonderful spa experience.
