Overview

A chic lagoon-view room at a sumptuous resort in Sri Lanka, with elegant, traditionally inspired décor

The Lowdown

Wild coastlines, safaris teeming with ambling elephants and the biggest concentration of leopards in the world, tropical seas with blue whales and spinner dolphins, Sri Lanka is an untamed Eden waiting to be experienced. Once a Dutch colony, the country has also retained its colonial architecture, lush tea plantations and love for cricket. Grown into its own, Colombo is a vibrant city rich in heritage and culture.
All of Sri Lanka’s wonders can be experienced with a stay at the luxe Anantara Kalutara Resort. The resort sits surrounded by water – between the golden sands of Sri Lanka’s coastline and a peaceful lagoon of the Kalu Ganga River. The resort’s design was inspired by the vision of Geoffrey Bawa – Sri Lanka’s most famous architect. Elegant with modern interiors and touches of traditional motifs bring a sense of peace and tranquility to the spectacular property.
Relaxation is the order of the day here. Dream away in your comfortable lagoon-view rooms, take languid dips in the outdoor pool, get a massage at the Anantara Spa or take excursions through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.

Excellent Service and relaxed stay over weekend

We had a superb and relaxed stay at Anantara Kalutara resort. Visited with my sons for a short 1 night stay which was not enough! I’ve stayed at many lovely hotels in Sri Lanka but this one had the best balance of great service, food and hospitality.
The food was some of the tastiest I’ve had in Sri Lankan hotels, the service especially from our host Frank and the guest services team was fabulous and the pool villa accommodation was private and very comfortable. You do pay more than other hotels in the area, but the service, comforts and attention to detail is excellent. Hope tourism builds up more over the next few months - Sri Lanka is beautiful and there is so much to enjoy. Chef Stefan and team did an outstanding job with the food. ❤️ I’m returning with friends soon - to enjoy this hotel again. It’s my Sri Lankan favourite.

We stayed in Anantara for 3 nights as family with teenagers...

Love the place and the atmosphere.

At arrival , they took us from the reception to the lobby with dancing show :).

Staff are friendly and amazing , they did the best to make sure our stay was great.

Room was on lagoon , nice view , big room, well maintained, comfortable bed , bathroom was big , the TV has many installed movies , my kids love the movies.

Pool is the best in Sri Lanka , big with nice view.

Pool bar was fantastic, nice service, big thanks to Mr Rashan, he is the best , he did his best to make sure we are enjoying swimming, they serve free orange ,cold face towels and sun protection as well as the usual towels.

They have many activities like zipping , jet ski, fishing , boating at the lagoon where the sea is calm.

They have bikes as well but bikes was not well maintained.

Food buffet was the best in Sri Lanka, love the Thai food ,Indian and Sri Lanka food on dinner , breakfast was great with varieties of choices.

Spa was great.
