Luxury in the treetops
KarenRobS

We stayed for 2 nights and this truly is a luxury resort. From the moment we stepped out of the car and were met by the General Manager, Karin, to the moment we left we were so well looked after. The treetop suite comprised a lounge, bedroom and bathroom, all of which were spacious and interestingly furnished. There also was an outdoor shower, outdoor plunge pool and two terraces. Everything you would expect to find was there plus a complimentary mini-bar with snacks. Turn down service is special and includes the lighting of a log fire and on the final night candles were lit in the lounge and bathroom. The grounds are large and in addition to the forest has gardens, a chapel and ponds. Also in the grounds are many birds, monkeys and deer. Breakfast was good quality with a variety of cold and hot choices. The staff were really friendly and helpful. A highlight for us was the monkeys causing havoc at breakfast although the staff were not amused! We are looking forward to returning.

Everything that we thought we would enjoy was surpassed by what we actually experienced. From the moment we were warmly greeted until the hugs when we left, was pure luxury and spoiling. Exceptional personal attention from every member of staff and food which was the best we had experienced in South Africa. Everything we could have possibly wanted was provided, including wine in our suite for enjoying on our own balcony to port when we returned from the evening meal, in front of a wonderfully welcoming and roaring log burner. Although we did not partake of them - whisky, gin and vodka was also in decanters in our suite ( all complimentary). Also there were more than adequate supplies of different teas, coffee, hot chocolate and even a lemon with knife and cutting board. All were replenished daily. Attention to detail and guests’ needs were catered for in abundance.
Unfortunately, we did not avail ourselves of our own plunge pool because we had booked alternative outings.
Had we realised just how good and enjoyable our stay would have been -we would have booked for more than the 2 nights.
Anybody wishing to have a stay in probably the best hotel in the world, should stay at Tsala.

We knew we were going to enjoy our stay at Tsala but it surpassed all our expectations, we even stayed an extra night as we couldn't bear to leave.

We arrived on a particularly rainy day but the welcome from Lisa was first rate, she had a fire lit in our suite and made sure that we had everything we needed for a cosy and relaxing stay.

The facilities in the suite were outstanding, especially the inside and outside showers, the loo with a view, the hot water bottles in the bed and the extremely comfortable furnishings. The views from every aspect were incredible, you really do feel part of nature - but in a very luxurious way.

The Tsala restaurant was also outstanding with amazing food and very friendly staff, one evening we had dinner at the Zinzi restaurant which was equally as good. We were even joined by Vervet Monkeys for breakfast one morning, very entertaining!

Our stay at Tsala was one we will never forget and was a highlight of our wonderful holiday in South Africa. Many thanks to Karin and her team for making our stay so special.
