The Lowdown

If you’re looking for modern luxury in the historic uptown heart of cosmopolitan Cape Town, look no further than Townhouse Hotel. You’re perfectly placed to explore most of the mother city’s must-sees, including a string of museums, art galleries, historic sights, shopping markets and the restaurant and bar scene. Take a 30-minute stroll and you’re met with the renowned, buzzing V&A Waterfront, and if you venture slightly further afield, you’ll come face-to-face with the impressive Table Mountain.
After a day exploring the expansive cultural offerings of Cape Town’s centre and beyond, the hotel’s restaurant is on hand to serve up delicious traditional South African fare with a creative twist. With the famous Cape Winelands a little outside of the city, it would be rude for the hotel not to have a complementary list of Cape vintage wines available, right? Well, you’ll have every chance to sip on a quaffable glass or two at the restaurant or the laid-back cafe and bar – the perfect night-cap after a culture-filled day. Townhouse Hotel scooped a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Could not reccomend this enough.

From our arrival to the Townhouse I could not reccomend them higher. Every member of staff was more than helpful for any and all requests. The food was amazing and portions were more than adequate. Centrally located and plenty of friendly advice from the staff about where to go and how to get around. We would happily stay here again and reccomend to others.

Just checking out after 9 night stay ...

...I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel . Yes there are more flashy hotels down on the V and A but if you want great service massive breakfasts and a spotlessly clean room this is for you ! All at a very good price
Staff are fab - they can’t do enough to help and food and bar prices in the hotel are very reasonable.
Yes you do need to take a taxi at night - download the Uber app before you come and it costs about £2 down to the front. However we ate at the hotel a lot of nights as it was so good and we were so tired after a day sightseeing !

Must Stay!

The whole experience was absolutely amazing! I have never felt so comfortable and welcome. The people at reception were lovely and always helpful. Management were fantastic and the lady that cleaned my room during my stay was exceptional at her job and incredibly friendly. I really enjoyed my stay here and was particularly impressed that staff went out of their way to ensure my experience was good. I have stayed at other hotels in Cape Town (some of which are very pricey) and none of them compare to this hotel. Massive thanks to the staff here. Other hotels could learn a lot from you. They helped me with absolutely everything from medical treatment, doctors to advice on staying safe (I was travelling solo) and was always greeted with a smile. They also assisted me with massive amounts of laundry without any complaint. Reception staff and cleaning staff particularly stand out. Security staff were also great. There were also multiple occasions where I left cash out on the table and valuable jewellery. Not once did I ever have to worry about anything being taken. In fact, one time I did this, housekeeping counted the money and put it in an envelope in the safe. I was very impressed by this lovely lady's honesty. Unfortunately, I do not recall her name but I was staying in room 606 for the dates: 28th June to 9th July. If it is possible to determine who cleaned this room during this time, she should be commended on her good work. I am from Australia and I have had many things stolen from hotel rooms in my country, so it is wonderful to see that wholesome honesty still exists. 100% recommend! I will be travelling back to Cape Town in the future and wont even bother looking at any other hotels.
