How to Get There
We were in South Africa on a motorbike to celebrate our 25th anniversary and spent 2 wonderful and absolutely unforgettable nights in the Sicily Room of the Tintswalo Atlantic... thanks you guys again for everything !!!
We just spent 2 nights there for our honeymoon. Wow! Absolutely breath taking. A special experience from start to finish.
Service is impeccable and so warm and friendly. Food was good and wine list extensive.
The view just constantly takes your breath away. Such a relaxing, romantic getaway. Can not recommend enough! Can’t wait to come back!
From the time you descend from the parking lot in the compulsory shuttle till you walk into the airy lounge and dining area, be prepared for sensory overload. Nestled in a quiet bay at the start of Chapman's peak, the hotel/restaurant offer majestic views of Hout Bay, and the surrounding mountains. The peace and quiet and lapping of the waves is quite something.
The restaurant offers a 3 course Prix Fixe menu with 3 choices for each course. The food is really good and well prepared but be warned, there is lots of it so go hungry. Our group had the chicken salad and sea food as starters and we all felt the helps were a bit large but excellent nevertheless. The sorbet helped and the main courses f steak and grilled fish were befitting the location and experience. all deserts were copious and very welcome.
The service was attentive but not intrusive and our meal took 3 hours to complete. Its well worth a try if you want something a little more formal.
A point to note is the wind. When we visited there was no wind and it was very hot and the staff advised that south easter can be a nuisance and force everyone indoors.
Well done to all!
We were a bit confused with the tipping policy since you are given an account at the end of each meal although breakfast and certain snacks are included in the rate.......is it only to calculate additional tips? For the rest this is a well guarded gem and worth the experience!
Coming back after more than 6 years we immediately fell in love again with this outstanding hotel. It is difficult to describe if you haven't experienced it. Sitting on the balcony you feel like on a cruise ship, the decoration of the rooms is so rich of details, the entrance area feels like a home and not like a hotel. The whole situation around is breathtaking as the resort is hidden at the beach and invisible from the top. The service level is unheard of- if you ever had the pre-dinner snacks on the terrace before dinner and watched the sunset behind the Sentinel than you would agree: this is one of the best places to be in the world and certainly for us it's the best hotel we ever stayed at-and we will come back for sure and this time it will not take six years...
