Absolutely excellent. Brilliant friendly staff, fantastic setting, stunning rooms and facilities. Reuben's restaurant was fantastic for both dinner and breakfast. The breakfast selection was vast. We will definitely visit again.

Truly One of a Kind!

Being South African, we are really spoiled for choice when it comes to beautiful accommodation options. I don't usually bother to write a review even though I have been fortunate to have visited some of the best hotels in SA including the 12 Apostles and the Oyster Box. To be honest nothing compares to the One and Only, the name could not have been more apt.The place is completely in a league of it's own.

From the minute you drive up to the entrance, your car is collected, and you are greeted by name, until you check out, you are treated like royalty. The staff are professional and friendly and never overbearing, and the hotel itself is a dream. The location in Cape Town - so close to the Waterfront and with views to die for - is nothing short of spectacular. But despite all the obvious wonderful elements, the reason this hotel stands out, is in the little things.

We visited this hotel in March this year, and the minute I walked into it again this past weekend, the familiar scent (Charlotte Rhys Room spray) hit me again. Housekeeping was kind enough to offer me a complimentary spray as well as the scent diffuser so I can be reminded of the hotel's lovely fragrance at home :-). This might seem like a small thing, but it really is the little things that makes the difference between good and great. There are many more to mention such as the complimentary wine and delicious treats in the room with a letter welcoming us back and the night-time chocolates shaped like table mountain, all designed to make a guest experience unique. All I can say is that you won't regret staying here, to say the least. Room number 320 has 3 balconies and the views are unreal. Waking up to the seagulls and seals' squeals, and being able to watch the penguins in the aquarium from your room is such an amazing experience, not to speak of the yachts in the harbour. I'll be back in a heartbeat, I can't imagine finding another place with all the elements coming together as perfectly as here.

Excellent hotel in great location

Expectations were high for this luxury hotel situated close and within walking distance to the vibrant Water Front area of Cape Town but we were most definitely not disappointed. You are greeted by the charismatic doormen and I loved the signature greeting gesture each member of staff gives you, a hand across their heart, a really lovely touch. The staff makes this hotel, from the check in staff, the concierges (thank you Joshua and Nigel for all your help and advice), the restaurant staff and the team around the pool, each one in their own way, made you feel both welcome and special. Management are also very noticeable and a big thank you to both Robin and Miranda who went out of their way to help us. We only ate the sumptuous breakfasts in the hotel but the buffet choice was exceptional with the sweet area being something I had never before seen.
Our room was on the fourth floor of the main hotel looking directly at the iconic Table Mountain a view I never tired of. The bedroom was spacious and had a settee in and the bathroom again was spacious and included plenty of good size towels.
I highly recommend this hotel. It’s not cheap but you very much get what you pay for, a luxury hotel with great facilities but most of all fantastic staff.
