How to Get There
This might seem like hyperbole but this truly a superb experience. The service is unparalleled. The rooms were HUGE with amazing comforts. The lobby bar and patio area were just perfect. Oh, and the breakfast at Reubens was awesome. Treat yourself!
It had always been a wish of mine to visit Cape Town, see Table Mountain, see Great White Sharks etc.
After browsing various hotels, i decided to try the One and Only. The best decision I’ve ever made!!
From the moment we pulled up at the grand entrance, the welcome from the staff was fabulous. Literally every member of staff were so polite. Nothing was too much of a problem. Not one member of staff can be faulted. The rooms were spacious, well equipped. The food was simply devine. The staff took the time to get to know me, (and me, them).
Because of this hotel and the staff, I’ve fallen in love with Cape Town and, even a month or so later, whilst writing this, I yearn to return.
If you’re reading this, I urge you, this hotel is a must! Find the money in your budget to stay here.
I cannot wait to return to see, whom I now consider friends.
Every single person has contributed to make the One and Only THE premier hotel in Cape Town.
Other hotels take note: THIS is how it’s done.....
We had another amazing stay at the One&Only! The hotel and location are incredible for children. The staff go out of their way to make you feel as if you are at home. The breakfast is the best in Cape Town. We will be back again soon.
It was our first time in Cape Town. Having stayed in other One&Only's we choose this hotel. It was outstanding in every way. The service is incredibly personable considering the size of the hotel from the minute you arrive. The room was well presented with a breathtaking view of Table Mountain. The Ruben's breakfast was awesome. The pool area stunning. Food fantastic at the poolside restaurant. We found the concierge couldn't do enough for us.The location was ideal, especially as we were first time visitors to the waterfront. Can't recommended this hotel enough. Worth it for sure.We will be back very soon.
I have been going to this hotel since it opened up and always enjoy it as it has everything you want in one place so you never have to drive anywhere. Good pool, great spa, decent high tea, good food and great rooms and service. But after my last visit I probably will never return!
After I booked in I went for a massage as per normal and then had some high tea ( which was priced at R395 per person and probably should have been the first warning sign). After then we went train in the gym and then got ready to settle in for the evening with some in room dining.
But as we opened up the new menu ( same foods as 2 months before when I was here last but with new prices ) we could not believe our eyes! I actually rung room service to confirm and so they did, confirmed that the new prices was correct and not a misprint!
Now we all know in room dining prices are a joke but you better sit down for these.
A normal burger R400 ( 2 month earlier, R195 )
250g steak R650 ( 2 month earlier, R350 )
Club sandwich R380 ( 2 months earlier R180 )
So for some reason, I can only image greed or arrogance they have just doubled their prices to point where only lottery winners or oil magnates can afford it!
It’s a pity as it meant we had to go to the nearby waterfront to have dinner ( paid R230 for an amazing 250g fillet ) as I simply won’t pay those prices out of principle as I feel I am getting scammed!
So we probably won’t go back there and next time try a hotel who doesn’t try and scam people who are already paying a lot to stay there.
