How to Get There
Feels more like a (super luxurious) home away from home than a hotel. The service is very personal and the folks here pride themselves on taking the extra step for their guests. They threw in a lot of effort in making sure we were well looked after - wine tastings, restaurant bookings, sightseeing tips, even free tickets to museums!
Great location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean - with a surprisingly large garden on the property. We spent some nice mornings just gazing at the view and stuffing our faces with the breakfast spread.
Perfect place to stay in Cape Town!
A first rate establishment, in a wonderful location with magnificent views.
What stood out:
Several things stood out:
1) Being greeted warmly late at night after being picked up by your driver in a nearly empty airport.
2) The snack waiting in my room.
3) The comfort of the bed. (Who is the manufacturer of the mattress?)
4) The gluten-free pastries in the pantry.
5) The express laundry service.
6) The great referrals for private touring and restaurants.
7) The wonderful friendliness of the staff.
As other reviews so aptly put, Paul, Karen, Carl and entire staff continue in creating the best upscale hotel experience at the Ellerman House in Cape Town. Riveting location with views of Bantry Bay, immaculate grounds, attentive and gracious service, cleanliness, attention to every need of the guest, and a superb in-house restaurant menu combined for an extraordinary stay. We stayed in two lovely rooms during our visit and were delighted with each..... Surrounded by a magnificent collection of South African art throughout the historical house, our rooms had the spacious king beds, large separate tub shower bathroom, comfortable porch and sitting areas as well as superb housekeeping that all made for relaxation and comfort during our holiday. Enjoyed the swimming pool each morning. Sundowner gin tonics were an absolute delight in the evening. Short and timely hop by car service to Victoria and Alfred waterfront and other CT destinations..... yes, some construction noise weekdays only at a neighboring property, but staff did absolutely everything to mitigate. Proper job at the Ellerman House!!!!!
After almost 3 weeks in Souther Africa we spent our last 3 evenings at Ellerman House. This was the best, in fact one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Beautiful large residence hotel over looking the ocean. Rooms were extremely well decorated and had all the best amenities. Sevice was very friendly but professional. Food excellent. Highly recommended.
amazing property, beautiful grounds, incredible art museum that you feel like you are an art gallery, kind and friendly staff makes you feel right at home. No stone is left unturned, Highly recommend!
