How to Get There
We loved our stay at the Dock House and our winter wellness treatments by Patience and Esther. The staff of the Dock House are very helpful and ensured we fully enjoyed Cape Town. The hotel car to Boulder Bay and Cape of Good Hope was very comfortable and reasonable. Uber has a hard time finding the hotel because it’s on Portswood Ridge and Uber’s map sends them to V&A waterfront. A quick text to the driver to come up portwood ridge fixes everything.
Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Breakfast is intimate and delicious. There is a pool and grassy yard overlooking the Ferris wheel that is an oasis in the waterfront. There is music at night on the waterfront but it’s easy to tune out or drown out. Definitely recommend and cannot day enough good things about Cynthia, Shadley and Michelle.
My wife and I returned in March for a second visit to the Dock House and once again had a wonderful time. Our suite was superb with a spacious lounge and view into the garden. Michelle and her team were very professional and helpful and we look forward to our next visit.

My family and I had absolutely had a great stay at Dock House. Amongst the busy waterfront the hotel offers a tranquile place. Furthermore they served an excellent breakfast and had a very nice and helpfull staff.
We were recommended by gamelodgedestinations.com for this one. There is so many hotels in this area but most modern with large concierge etc. This is a Victorian mansion with beautifully appointed rooms and large bathrooms. The furnishings are exquisite, comfortable beds and quiet. The rooms face out to look over the sightseeing wheel and garden and pool area. Just cross the road to the waterfront vibrant nightlife and the blue and red bus circuits a 5 minute walk. You can use the Dash restaurant in QV which is modern with great food and service. The Staff are attentive, friendly and the managers organise transport, tours, taxis. It is secure.
I can't say enough how much we enjoyed our stay at the dock house. Michelle and her stuff or exceptional! The rooms were perfect, the breakfast wonderful! Their room service was also good. Try dinner at their sister Hotel right next door. The location is great within walking distance to the pier where they had shops restaurants and entertainment. Because the hotel is small all you needed to do was poke your head from the room and there was always someone there to ask if you needed anything. There is a small pool on site it is easily accessible for handicapped if u are on first floor. We were greeted with smiles and when we left we got a fond send off. We were there during the drought and the staff did everything possible to make us comfortable water was not a problem. If I were to return to Cape Town I would definitely return to the dock house. Thank you Michelle and your stuff for your hospitality!
