How to Get There
This is a truly wonderful boutique hotel. The rooms are sumptuously decorated in warm tones, huge bed and spacious bathrooms. The Dock House Hotel is a former Governors residence and the high ceilings and beautiful chandlers take you back to times of old.
Tyler (GM) and his team are professional as befits luxury hospitality and unique in their authenticity in wanting our stay to be restful, where we felt genuinely cared for and where no request was too much trouble. The whole team were very friendly and I was taken by being addressed by my first name, which gave crested a country house atmosphere. If you are looking for large corporate nameless hospitality with large lounges then the Dock House is not for you. Ifyou are looking to be treated as an individual where there is a genuine desire to be helpful and anticipate needs, set in a beautiful well manicured garden, with a small pool, intimate bar area and professional spa then this hotel is for you. The breakfast buffet had everything you expect and scrambled egg is to die for. The Dock House is literally 50 yards from the centre of the V and A Waterfront where you are spoilt for good restaurants which Tyler and the team are happy to recommend. Whilst here try and drive down to the Cape a magical experience and don’t forget to see the Boulder penguins along the way. Oh and by the way the Dock House is part of the Newmark Waterfront Hotel collection which gives you a passport to additional six locations .
Thank you Tyler and team we will definitely be recommending the Dock House to Audley Travel, friends and family and hope one day to return

If you love small boutique hotels, this is for you. Only six suites and Number 1 is outstanding. Absolutely everything you could possibly need is supplied in this beautiful hotel. Delightful gardens with swimming pool and only 5 minutes walk to Victoria and Alfred waterfront. Excellent breakfast with fresh produce and individually cooked to order. Either have dinner on the waterfront or in Dock House sister hotel across the courtyard.
Just got back from a visit to Cape Town, and we couldn't have been happier with our stay at the Dock House. The location is amazing - you can walk to all of the cultural and tourist sites in the waterfront area. The hotel is somehow in the middle of all the action - and yet nestled in a quiet enclave, which was perfect. Our room (#5) was beautiful: large, with both historic character (high ceilings!) and modern design. But best of all were the people. We were supported with warmth, knowledge, thoughtfulness, and professionalism by Abi and Louisa, and received exceptional service from the entire staff. Thank you to everyone at Dock House for making our first stay in Cape Town such a special one.
