Lovely Stay-cation
Reviewed 1 day ago

We recently stayed at the Ritz White Plains for a quick get-away using Marriott points. We corresponded with the front desk ahead of time to make dinner reservations to celebrate a little time away from the kids and they went all-out. Room upgrade, flowers sent to the restaurant- it was sweet.
The property was larger than I thought it was. It was nicely designed and modern, but the lobby is a bit small- which comes into play later in the review.
Our upgraded room was large and beautiful, but slightly odd; there was a huge column in the middle of the room that made it awkward to navigate (in the way, where you would normally walk through the room). The room was also sparsely appointed. It was a king room, but only had one sitting chair and side table- but with room for much more (sofa, chairs...). The bed was quite firm (there was a small pillowtop, but it didn’t help much). I prefer and usually expect a plush mattress at a luxury hotel. There were also 2 light bulbs out in the bathroom. Turndown service was less than impressive. They refreshed the towels and turned down the bed, but no special touch- no chocolates, bedside mats, slippers, fresh ice, water glasses. Not what i expect from Ritz.
Everyone we encountered was impressively dedicated to our satisfaction with the exception of one person, which made it stand out.
As noted above, the lobby is a bit small without a lot of seating, apparently. We learned this when we returned from dinner the hotel arranged,
Stopping for hot chocholate on the walk home. We sat on some lounge seating in what we thought was the lobby, next to the fireplace to warm up and continue to chat remembering there wasn’t seating for two in the room. A lobby bar server checked in and said to let him know if we needed anything. A few moments later another server came over and told us our “outside beverages” weren’t allowed. I asked why we couldn’t drink them in the lobby- and was told it wasn’t the lobby, it was a restaurant. Sensing our displeasure she offered to pour our drinks in a hotel cup. We declined and went upstairs. It was disappointing we couldn’t just sit and lounge. This was the only service issue.
The next day our kids joined us for swimming and lunch. The pool attendant was great and gave the kids pool toys, and the chef spoke to us about our child’s food allergies and accommodated is superbly - lunch by the pool was so much fun!
A nice stay and I’d return, but hope the lobby servers ease up a bit and that the turndown service turns-up the service part.

Classic Ritz Carlton service in White Plains
Reviewed 5 days ago

Ultra attentive guest services (concierge); Traditional and classic Ritz Carlton service; and spacious suites. A well equipped gym, and an indoor pool on the top floor. All three of my stays there have been a lovely experience.

Stayed for 4 days during Thanksgiving week to be close to family. We can't say enough about the employees and services provided. Everyone went out of the way to help with any needs and desires. The room was quiet, clean and the shower and bed were great.
The only thing they could do better is to upgrade there in room coffee machines or have coffee available in the lobby. We will be staying here any time we return to the area.

Happy event and a good nights sleep

We came in for a family party. Did not have much time to enjoy the Hotel. Room was clean, comfortable bed and well appointed. Friendly, smiling staff.
Saw one of the Knicks in the lobby. I guess he lives at the Ritz as there training center is close in Purchase.
The family affair was wonderful. Super attentive staff. Great food. The Sushi was off the charts, the kebabs were delicious. The Short Rib was perfect. So it is safe to assume this quality of food is the norm.

This is a great hotel company. You know when you stay at the Ritz you going to get the service do you want, and don’t know you want. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the bathrooms are beautiful. Service outstanding. I would recommend the Ritz Carlton company in any city that you go to
