How to Get There
Went here for 2 days. Had a Wedding nearby. The restaurants in the Hotel is Coopers Mill and Ruth Crisps. Coopers Mill food is good, service needs to be improved. Prices are reasonable. Did not go to Ruth Crisps but they do have a good reputation.
My room was very comfortable, with a king size bed, good water pressure shower on a nice floor. The lobby has some TVs - needed to watch Wimbledon and you can sit back and relax.
All at reception was helpful and friendly. Tarrytown is down the road to explore and eat if you wish. Scarsdale is not far as well.
When we received the news that accommodations for our 20th family reunion were at a Marriott hotel, we were excited. A hotel chain with a stellar reputation and proximity to The Big Apple seemed ideal. The plans were communicated at least a year prior to our August reunion weekend. Our reunions usually include at least a couple dozen children, most of whom look forward to pool time. Our welcome reception was planned to be held near the pool. Imagine the disappointment when we saw on the hotel website a few days prior to the event that the pool would be closed for renovations during August. The Marriott doesn’t revolve around our plans, however it seems incredible that regular pool maintenance involving weeks long closure is scheduled during a time when many families with children would be traveling. We were cheered to learn that hotel management had made arrangements for families to go to one of several neighboring hotels to use their pools. Unfortunately there appeared to be abundant communication gaps within and between the hotels. At one point the children headed out for a swim only to be rebuffed upon arrival.
It was unfortunate that a lovely hotel with the Marriott name and brand would support such poor planning and communication. Thanks to our patient and capable reunion committee we had a wonderful reunion. The pool closure was the only significant blemish.
The hotel was renovated a few years ago. The best rooms to stay in are the ones right off the pool area. They cost a bit more but are worth it. Restaurant and bar area is on premises. This hotel is located next to Ruth Chris. Free parking. Very big hotel. A Very nice place for family gatherings and events.
We stay at Marriott hotels when I go to New York city for cancer treatment they treat us very well and the points we earn are going towards our trip to Hawaii after my treatments are completed hopefully next spring
We came here for a family wedding. A beautiful facility. Catering operations were top notch. I've worked for one of the largest catering venues in the NY metro area for 5 years and have seen it all. Very well organized and well executed. Food was good too. Only complaint, some of the dishes during cocktail were not replenished towards the end of cocktail hour. I would definitely return to this hotel and would plan on it next we visit friends in Westchester.
