How to Get There
Great fun, great atmosphere, enjoy spending an evening there about once a month. The Bayou Buffet closed down and was replaced by keno, no loss on the buffet it was terrible, very generic food at a expensive price.
New owners have changed this from a first class place to stay to average at best. We usually stay here 3-4 times each year. Furniture is shabby but beds are still comfortable. The breakfast which was outstanding is now awful. I am allergic to eggs and the current choices leave me stopping for breakfast nearby. Even the bananas were rotten. Tables were dirty and not cleaned. Food was empty, even creamer for the coffee was gone. Clearly they are understaffed and have cut corners to a bad breakfast. The casino while fun was freezing. WE had to leave because it was too cold to enjoy gambling. No hairdryer in room. Asked for one but it took over an hour to get one. Hopefully management will realize they are ruining a nice hotel.
I was delighted as our bus approached the hotel. The rooms were very nice and spacious.
The continental breakfast was good; there was a great variety of food choices.
The casino was impressive and large. I had a lot of fun; I would like to go there again.
I was disappointed that there wasn't a refrigerator in the room and the Figi water in the room was pricey. I left it there.
I really don’t know what happened to this hotel. It used to be so nice and had one of the best breakfasts in the area. They have changed ownership I believe and have cut corners in every way. Breakfast was not good, was cold. Room was clean, but no coffee maker or any other convenience item in room. For the nightly price they should include something. They did have a bottle of Figi water for 6.00! Don’t think I will go again when I can get just as good a room down the road.
We were lost in West Virginia trying to run away from the hurricane and found this hotel and casino. It was excellent! The casino was large and had a great deal to offer. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel was inexpensive and very well maintained. The rooms were clean and very nice. The staff was amazing!I would go here again and again. I highly recommend it. I just wish we lived closer!
