Wonderful castle

Check in was very efficient. We stayed in the. Pevensey Room which had access to the 14th Century tower. The room was wonderful, clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was large. There was no door to the bathroom thus personal privacy was compromised. The only problem we had was that our room was on the main central heating circuit which was turned off for summer and although we had 2 “heated” towel rails in the bathroom the towels were always damp in the morning from the previous nights shower as the heated towel rails were not functioning. 3 electric heaters were supplied to ensure that the temperature in the bedroom and bathroom were comfortable. The wifi was good. We had a dinner, bed and breakfast package and both dinner and breakfast were first rate. The dinner menu is not very extensive but as we stayed only 3 nights there was enough variety. Dean A is a very attentive, professional and friendly waiter and made both our breakfast and dining experiences very pleasurable. The dress code for dinner was not enforced which I feel is rather a pity. There is lots to do and see in and around the castle, we loved playing croquet and playing on the professional putting green.

An amazing venue! This place is truly remarkable.

We attended a good friends wedding here and I can honestly say that the experience as a whole was perfect, our food courses were lovely (not big portions). I stayed here overnight and the room was very nice with a jacuzzi bath and comfy bed. The following morning breakfast was served and this was also nice. There are lovely grounds which were a pleasure to walk round and relax in with a glass of champagne. I’d thoroughly recommend Amberley Castle.

My wife and I stayed the night and had dinner at Amberley castle. Probably one of the best 'nights away' we've had. A high standard of service, a quality room and excellent cuisine in the restaurant .

Perfect for anniversary celebration

We loved everything! The cosy room, the amenities, the tea and biscuits inside the room, the tranquility, the delicious and sumptuous made-to-order breakfast. Most importantly the service! Everyone was friendly, helpful and cheerful. You truly made my holiday special. Especially Dew at breakfast. Your good service went above and beyond my expectations.

We had a lot of fun watching the birds and the peacocks. We also played on the putting green which was immaculately maintained.
The spring flowers were in full bloom. Everywhere was so beautiful.
The castle itself, well, just look at the photos on the hotel's website. It's just that picture perfect.  Need I say more?

Only downside was... Castle was really quite difficult to reach if you don't own/rent a car.
Also, we left on a Friday afternoon. Traffic was a nightmare. Took us 3 hours to drive to Heathrow.

Stunning place but rooms let it down

We stayed here in June 2018 and paid over £320 for a one night stay. We were very angry though to find that we were unable to open our windows (on what was a very hot day)due to the strong smell coming from the kitchens directly below our room. To make matters worse people eating in restaurant were looking straight into our room as we were directly opposite. I waved from the bed to a lady drinking a glass of wine as she had dinner. As such we had no privacy unless we closed the blinds in broad daylight. The shower was also very very weak as previous guests have reported. I told reception and the lady said oh thats a shame with no offer to even try and rectify. To compound everything I was charged for somebody else's meal and beverages as I checked out but that got sorted in the end. I rarely post on trip advisor but feel strongly in that I should pass on my view in that this is not a place to stay in but to only visit to look at.
