How to Get There
My other half brought me here as a surprise, we arrived late at night and I thought “where the hell are we going” suddenly a floodlit castle appeared into view, driving up the gravel drive the magnificent of the hotel appeared.
What a beautiful setting. The staff are just incredible, every single person we interacted with was a dream, notably the young chap serving dinner and breakfast, every hotel needs him!
The food was out of this world, I’ve eaten in some incredible places but this was brilliant.
The grounds of the castle are spectacular to walk around.
Visit Amberley and you’ll fall in love.
I’m so glad that I chose Amberley Castle for afternoon tea to celebrate my mum’s 90th birthday. It’s a wonderful romantic setting, exuding history...the staff are delightful and the tea was the most delicious feast..what an experience!
I’m looking forward to my next visit. Despite it being about an hour’s drive from home ( sadly no castles on my doorstep) the journey is so worth it when the food is of such quality..maybe I’ll just have to stay over...
We booked this hotel for my Daughters Wedding. Everything for the occasion was perfect. The staff could not have been more helpful, anythig little thing they could do to enhance the occasion they did. We stayed Friday and Saturday night. The meals were first class, compliments to the Chef. I would highly reccomend this Hotel.
I was going to say PERFECT and it very nearly was. The castle is visually enchanting. Because my son had organised some flowers for my wife’s birthday they provided a free upgrade. The 5 course tasting menu was a delight – some different and interesting flavours provided a real dining experience. The staff were brilliant – there if you wanted them but not intrusive. The ambience was delightful.
It would have been good, having booked us in for a 7.15 dinner, if they had acknowledged my email asking for this. The after dinner coffee was a touch insipid and it took three attempts to get the bill right.
However nothing really detracted from a delightful stay. Unreservedly recommended.
What an experience staying at the castle! We were upgraded to a lovely room on arrival. Everyone deserves a huge thank you for making our stay one to remember. We felt special throughout and the food was superb ! Soo many unusual little courses to try and we left the restaurant comfortably full and very satisfied . We still felt full in the morning but managed a breakfast before leaving that also was tastefully prepared. We will return and next time hope to have the weather to explore the outside grounds
