How to Get There
This is a really nice hotel with super-friendly staff and spacious rooms for a European hotel. It seems to be the place to stay for many famous people as the picture wall in the entrance area shows (e.g. it accommodated the likes of Ralph Fiennes and Colin Farrell when they were there to shoot “In Bruges”).
The only thing that was a little irritating was that there were no towel racks in the (also very spacious) bathroom at all. So no way to reuse your towel. I understand this is a high-end place but that does not mean folks in there do not care about the environment.
The room (232) was on the side of the building with view of another roof. This was perfectly fine as a canal view was a bit pricier.
Wonderful hotel right on the canal in the center of Bruges, I couldn't have picked a more perfect location. The room was nice, and had wonderful views out over the canal. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The only downside was that our bathroom had a bit of a sewage smell to it, which the hotel assured us was a result of the canal, the time of year and the pipes.
We enjoyed a terrific weekend in Bruges at the Hotel De Tuilerieen. The team at the front desk was incredibly helpful, recommending and booking several excellent restaurants. Our room was up a small set of stairs and was both spacious and very comfortable. The spa is a really nice amenity and a perfect place to relax on a rainy afternoon. Bruges itself is extraordinary--it's like stepping into another age--and the DeTuilerieen is the perfect place to easily enjoy everything Bruges has to offer.
