The City centre of Bruges is full of hotels that look good in the photos but disappoint in real life.
Having visited Bruges and regularly stayed in hotels there for several years I have experienced from superb to the truly dreadful, but all were booked with the same expectation of getting what you pay for.
This hotel delivers and is a gem amongst many Four star hotels that abound in Bruges. It is well-located for the tourist visitor.
The rooms are boutique style, not expensively furnished, but comfortable, easy on the eye and spotlessly clean.
You get a solid, comfortable hotel for a reasonable value, and the staff really are excellent with standards clearly set and delivered. I was impressed with all of them.
We stayed here two nights while xmas shopping in Bruges.
The hotel is a 15min taxi from the station and located by the canal and a minute’s walk to the main streets of Bruges. And despite being so central its also a very quiet hotel.
We booked an executive room with canal view which was very classy with wood floors: double windows overlooking the canal; a huge 6ft bed and tea/coffee facilities. With breakfast included and access to the spa we paid €590 for the 2 nights.
The staff are very helpful and of course speak excellent English.
Breakfast includes a broad selection of hot and cold dishes which is better value included in the hotel price rather than paid separately (as its a steep €25 otherwise).
We didn’t use the spa but it includes a pool and sauna.
One point is the hotel overlooks the canal but is not actually by the canal; there is a road and path in between.
I’d certainly recommend coming here both for the quality and the location.
Expensive, but great location on the canal. Beautiful building and elegant comfortable rooms, nice cosy bar area and great service. Only criticism was a tired bathroom at odds with the bedroom and a shower that was either cold or scalding.
I have wanted to stay in this hotel for years, ever since I found out that the windows overlooking the canal are crystal! Fabulous, or what? We stayed in one of those rooms, four poster bed and all. It was soooo worth it! Staff were friendly and helpful, bar and lounge cosy, breakfast a bit on the steep side at 25E per person so we had breakfast in the square nearby instead. Very close to all the sights, with one of the best galleries just a few metres down the road. One of the couples in our group stayed in one of the Executive rooms (not overlooking canal) and I have to say, apart from the view, it was every bit as comfortable as ours! Very traditional, very classic and very classy! We loved it and will def go back
