How to Get There
My wife and I stayed at the Heathman Lodge while I was in Vancouver for a conference. The rustic atmosphere is fun and attractive. Room was comfortable and well equipped. Lounge was a pleasant meeting place for conversation. Staff helpful and courteous. Excellent on-site restaurant (Hudson's) with excellent service. Convenient location.
Can't believe I've never reviewed this property. I've stayed here more than a dozen times. It is one of only two nice hotels in Vancouver.
Facility - it looks like a giant log cabin, inside and out. The look is consistent throughout. The light covers in the rooms a yellow'ish with landscape scenes or moose etched over them. There are no duvets, just wool blankets. The rooms themselves are spacious, but feel a little dated... old refrigerators, small TV's, not as bright as you might hope. Good showers, beds and towels are average, good quality toiletries, in room coffee is good. There are an uncommon number of rooms with patios/decks. The sound of birds chirping is piped into all the hallways. Indoor pool, reasonable gym, weak business center, lot of meeting rooms. This is definitely a business hotel. I never see kids, but I think they would like the uniqueness of it. It's not terribly close to PDX, but they have a shuttle and I've never had trouble getting a Lyft or Uber.
Two primary strengths. All aspects of the hotel are well-trained and have a good service mentality. They are not overly formal, just friendly. Secondly, the food is great. I've had all three meals in each of the formats... restaurant, room service, and catered and/or buffet in the meeting rooms. I've worked all around the available menus. They consistently do food really well.
Great place, with a surprisingly good restaurant. Located next to the Vancouver mall and the cinetopia movies. Very nice location, lots of restaurants too. This location is very close to the highway providing quick access to Portland and the Airport.
I have stayed at the lodge on a number of occasions during a conference and always enjoyed myself. The hotel is 1/3 a mile from a starbucks, total wine and more and the mall is across the street from those. They have a driver who can drop you off at various locations around town that is on until 11 pm usually. They do a lovely coffee and desert service during conferences that is popular. I would recommend.
My husband and I traveled 6.5 hours to a vintage toy show. We were warmly treated and Our room was GREAT!
The bed was a bit on the firm side not horrible. The pillows are a bit soft. We were able to keep our room comfortable. The only downfall was that we were behind by the restraunt and you could hear them with the bottles being put out.
The doors to the room close a bit loud. But, it's spacious and nice. Can't wait to come back next year. Koi pond is a beautiful area unfortunately it's also the smoking area. Still relaxing though.
Highly suggest a stay.
