How to Get There
I stayed here for a weekend family trip and booked the W due to many previous favorable experiences in other cities. Our rooms were very nice and well appointed, as was the fitness center. While the front desk staff were friendly, they were just not helpful. One of our rooms was not serviced and my kids’ keys were apparently accidentally deactivated.
In addition, the restaurant was totally unaccommodating when we tried to get a late dessert. After trying to sit is in the bar (with two kids), they told us our only other option was to sit in the living room, where a DJ was blaring music to an empty dance floor. Not a pleasant end to an otherwise perfect day.
Parking is absurd - $79 for overnight valet or $39 to self park a block away. I get that Seattle is a great, hot city. The W needs to raise their game.
Had 3 nights at this hotel and loved it. It is so central and you can walk everywhere (Safeco, Pike Market, Sky needle, etc). The room was huge (including the bathroom) and was clean and quiet. The hotel bar was great (serving great bar "snacks"/meals). We went to a baseball game at Safeco field (thinking it was about 1 1/4 hour walk......which is what it told us when we googled)..only took us about 30mins and that was via China town. The staff were really helpful (especially when we inadvertently dialled 911.....a trap to watch our for, don't put in that extra 1). Would definitely recommend this hotel.
We used the W Seattle as the main hotel for our wedding last year. Guests had a blast and so did we. This July we returned for our first anniversary. Our original contact, Maria M, helped us rebook the same suite and went above and beyond w/ a bottle of champagne, as well as photos from our wedding date. Needless to say we had another great stay.
Cool funky vibe to this well appointed and situated hotel. Nescafé in room coffee rather than Starbucks so well done to that. Great beds as usual for a SPG and a good view from our room. I think a bit understaffed for breakfast as it took a while to be seated but food was good and pleasant service.
The hotel was in a great location, walk to everything. Parking was only valet for $68 so we parked in the garage right behind the hotel which was a mere $39 :)
The check in was one floor up the stairs, The check-in desk seemed very receptive to giving us the best room possible, the corner room was amazing but being on the 4th floor, we were woken up by traffic noise early in the am. That was the only corner room available we were told, we were offered another room on a higher floor when I asked, but that was a smaller room and since we had already put our stuff down in this one, did not feel like moving. Had I known how loud the traffic would be in the morning, I may have reconsidered.
The room and bathroom were very nicely appointed, felt like a posh hotel. Service was great! The restaurant Purple, diagonally across the hotel, was also very good.
