Beautiful comfortable boutique hotel

The hotel is a little gem of a place, in a lovely neighbourhood.

The room was comfortable and well appointed and the place has a homely boutique feel. The staff were really helpful.

I had never visited Seattle before, but Ballard is a really interesting neighbourhood with lots of local shops and restaurants. The area has a strong boating and seafaring heritage and the new Nordic museum (a must see) is with walking distance. There’s a good bus service (25 minutes to downtown) with stops just over a block away.

Very nice hotel! Parking situation is meh but the comfy room and really great bathroom make up for that. Bed and pillows were top notch! Best hotel shower ever! Very quiet rooms even with the little balcony. Really great find in Ballard... 15minutes to downtown easy!

Beautiful, nice rooms, fun street, breakfast difficult

We stayed here for three nights in late August. Unfortunately our first day included a fire drill, and I had to go down two or three flights of stairs, me with a mostly paralyzed leg. But the staff was very gracious about giving us a discount to make up for it. The room /suite was lovely although I am not personally fond of dark grey walls. Pretty dark and somber and every time the maid cleaned the room she closed the curtains, even early in the day, so we'd go through the motions of opening them back up; street windows provided plenty of light. Breakfast was a problem. It can be delivered from a bakery which has about 4 or 5 selections: huge heavy sandwiches or a yogurt parfait. There's a bar across the street which opens at 10 which apparently has a traditional breakfast, and there are other bistros open early a block or two away with pastries, quiche, etc. But if you want a full American breakfast of any type you will need to wait till 10 and go to the bar, or drive to it. This would probably keep us from staying here again. We also did not realize we were so far north of downtown, so almost every place we went required a long car ride. But Ballard is a nice, hip neighborhood, with shops, clubs, pubs and so on, if a little noisy at night. Didn't keep us awake, although the people upstairs on the last night were big stompers. The main lap pool next door at the Olympic Club was closed, but the "family" pool was open; however it does not have a shallow end. You can use the club and pool for free, and there is a spa. As Californians, we have been surprised to find that no shallow end in pools is common in the Northwest. A beautiful hotel, though, and really nice staff.
