How to Get There
Stayed for two nights in this hotel during a business trip. All turned out to be truly fine: mattress, bathroom, gym, hotel staff, location. One minor detail: the interior of the hotel is a to a European perhaps a bit outdated. Nevertheless it’s a perfect venue for a business traveler. Took a room on a high floor and particularly enjoyed the view on the Space Needle.
Stayed one night before our cruise. We were on the 30th floor and had a corner room with nice views. The room wasn't anything fancy, but we found it to be spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Had dinner in their restaurant and enjoyed the meal. I had a seafood soup which was excellent. A little on the pricey side ($20.00 for a burger). The staff was friendly and helpful. They did an excellent job managing all the people, luggage, etc with the transport to the port. I did book the room through the cruise line and overpaid. If you're going a day before your cruise book the room directly through the hotel.
AMTRAK Vacations booked us into the Crowne Plaza downtown, and two couples had a great experience. We arrived late due to a major snafu on the Link light rail (power outage) and Emanwella and Edona at the front desk were awesome as we were able to change to King rooms and this helped soothe our jangled nerves. Sci in the Regatta lounge took care of us and we had a nice meal and were made to feel very welcome. Thank you all !! The beds were great, the rooms immaculately clean and everyone at this hotel with the exception of Charlotte (a concierge) did everything they could to help us. Our issue with Charlotte was while on the way to the hotel. Since we were coming to the hotel by Link light rail and then bus, and then back to rail .... we asked on the phone enroute where the nearest bus/rail station was close to the hotel. She said there wasn't one (three blocks we found out later)...and was too busy to look it up on her computer. This was not helpful at all. Not everyone gets a cab or shuttle to get downtown. Seattle downtown is very hilly and walking places can be an adventure.
My experience at the Crowne Plaza Seattle Downtown seems to have been better than some other reviewers on this website. The room that I scored on Hotwire was a good deal, the hotel is well located (close enough to be central, but without street people milling about), and the decor was perfectly acceptable. I'd stay there again without hesitation.
I’ve stayed at a few Crown Plaza's which were more high-end with lounges and extremely fancy restaurants with awesome buffets. The rooms were nothing special but very clean and comfy beds. Staff very nice. Views were great on the top floors.
Location was awesome.
THIS IS IMPORTANT - Do not walk up to the hotel on Seneca St. it is VERY steep. If you walk over a few blocks to Union St. it is an easy walk up. There is a Target nearby and many restaurants.
