Overview

An urban waterfront hotel that combines big-city amenities with lakeside relaxation

The Lowdown

Just 15 minutes from Seattle and three miles from Washington’s high-tech corridor or Redmond, Kirkland, and Bellevue, the Woodmark Hotel feels a world away from that high-stress urban life. It’s the only hotel on the shores of Lake Washington, making it a dreamy base for nautical adventures like kayaking and yacht tours. The rooms have cushy comforts like down pillows, tech necessities like fast WiFi, and whimsical touches like make-your-own-martini bars. The two waterfront dining options are the Mediterranean-inflected Bin on the Lake wine bar and restaurant, and the more casual Beach Café.

In the Area

While the hotel is meant to be a cocooning destination, it’s quite close to the attractions of Bellevue, including the Bellevue Arts Museum. Further afield, the Bellevue Farmers Market offers locally grown fruits, vegetables, and flowers, and the nearby Woodinville wine region includes more than 90 wineries and was recently named one of America’s 50 most amazing wine experiences by Food & Wine magazine. Visual pleasures abound at the Bellevue Botanical Garden, which covers more than 53 acres.

Luxurious hotel with personality

Woodmark Hotel is a hidden gem! It’s off the beaten path and away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to restaurants and fun activities. It is a luxurious hotel without the stuffy feeling . The are cool areas to hang out and just relax in such as the “library” and “living room” and a great lawn overlooking the lake. The staff is friendly and helpful. I’d highly recommend this hotel!

Hidden Gem on Lake Washington

We found the Woodmark by accident on a return trip home to Vancouver from southern California. It's slightly off the beaten path (across Lake Washington from Seattle) and so away from the hustle and bustle which suited us well. Our very comfortable room had a spectacular, south-facing view of the lake. The staff was super helpful and most accommodating with regard to our pooch who was travelling with us. Also enjoyed the hotel's beach restaurant. Good find!

Beautiful place

Woodmark Hotel is beautifully designed, felt so warm and welcoming. Our room was tasteful decorated, and so cozy. We loved the view, and sitting on the balcony drinking coffee. The raid the Pantry was super fun, and we loved the sandwiches, and cookies.
A special “Thank you “ for the complimentary champagne and chocolate dessert, that made our day so much more special.

Wonderful Hotel, BEST staff!

Great hotel/Resort even for an overnighter. Located right on Lake Washington with a ton to do if you have some extra time. This was our 2nd stay and we are pre-booked for 2 more in the next 30 days. Lots of places to eat and shop within a few short miles. The attached cafe is great but they seem to be understaffed so wait times are very long for breakfast on the weekends. There are some other places within walking distance that we will try next time instead of.
Marina is right outside your window with a beautiful walking path that strolls along the lake. What a neat place for a relaxing getaway. This has become our go-to place when we visit the Seattle area.
